Lappin Among the Late Entrants

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Several players opted to enter on Day 2 instead of the final starting day which is expected to commence at noon. David Lappin was among them and the Irishman was spotted winning an early pot.

He defended the big blind against a button raise and they checked the {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} turn. Lappin then bet the {4-Spades} river for 6,000 and the button folded.

Newhouse Fires Three Barrels

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Mark Newhouse raised to 1,800 on the button and was called by Steven Tabb in the small blind.

Tabb check-called a 2,200 bet on the {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and a 6,000 on the {4-Spades} turn.

The {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Tabb checked once more — prompting an 11,000 bet from Newhouse. Tabb decided to let his hand go and Newhouse dragged the pot.

Wellendorf Wins Three-Bet Pot Against Shashikhina

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

John Wellendorf raised it up in a middling position and called a three-bet to 6,000 by Sonia Shashikhina in the cutoff.

The {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop was checked by Wellendorf and he then called a bet worth 4,000. Neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor the {2-Hearts} river brought any action and Wellendorf won the pot with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Hoang Felts Rasmechai

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With 14,000 in the pot and {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} on the board, Grai Rasmechai checked and Reuben Hoang bet 75,000.

Rasmechai went into the tank for a moment, considering that the bet had him covered and that his tournament life was at stake. He called and turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Hoang had {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

The turn was a {q-Hearts} and Hoang's ace-queen took the lead. The river was a brick {3-Clubs} and Rasmechai hit the rail early on Day 2.

Griener Survives After Big Blind Special

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Jared Griener
Jared Griener

Aneris Adomkevicius raised from the button and then called the 8,900 three-bet jam Jared Griener made from the big blind.

Jared Griener: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Aneris Adomkevicius: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Griener was dominated and the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop didn't change a thing.

Luckily for Griener, the dealer dropped the {5-Spades} on the turn to put him in the lead and the {6-Hearts} river secured his much-needed double.

Fragoso held the winner with {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a pair of sevens while Lucas had {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

At the same table, Kelly Minkin raised in the small blind and Evgeni Tourevski defended from the big blind.

Lappin Chips Up Further

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

David Lappin has chipped up further and now holds a six-figure stack. As recalled by the Irishman, he limp-called a raise with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and check-called a bet worth 4,000 on a {10-}{9-}{8-} flop.

He checked behind the {4-Hearts} turn which brought a second flush draw and then bet the {q-Diamonds} river for 3,700. His opponent raised to 12,000 and Lappin reraised to 27,000 in order to get called by pocket jacks to claim the pot with the nut straight.

Fellow Irishman Dara O'Kearney has also opted to enter Day 2 and already boosted his stack after sitting down.

Marchese Gets Paid With Nut Flush

Nível 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Action was picked up on the turn as the board read {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Tom Marchese bet 6,500 from the button, Rahul Jain called from the big blind.

The river came the {k-Diamonds}. Jain checked. Marchese made a large overbet of 34,000 into a pot of about 20,000, leaving himself with only 600 behind. Jain thought for a while as it was for the majority of his stack. After a few moments he called.

Marchese tabled the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the flopped nut flush to take in a large boost to his stack.
