Brandon Shack-Harris Eliminated in 6th Place ($41,270)

Nível 18
Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

From the table's short stack, Brandon Shack-Harris raised on the button and was met by a three-bet from Danny Wong in the small blind. Brian Yoon folded his big blind, and Shack-Harris called.

Wong drew one while Shack-Harris drew two. Wong then quickly bet and Shack-Harris called.

Each player drew one on the second round, and this time Wong check-called a bet from Shack-Harris, who had just 40,000 behind.

Wong then drew one card while Shack-Harris patted his hand.

After the draw, Wong led out with a bet that would put Shack-Harris all-in if he called. The two-time bracelet winner went into the tank for a couple of minutes before making that call.

Wong showed a rough eight ({8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}), which was enough to beat Shack-Harris' rough nine ({9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{2-}), eliminating him from the tournament.

Jordan Siegel raised from middle position and Danny Wong three-bet from the cutoff. Siegel committed his remaining 85,000 chips and Wong called.

Both players took one on the first draw. Siegel continued to take one for the second and third draw, but Wong stood pat for both.

Wong turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and Siegel showed the losing {a-}{x-}{x-}{x-}{x-} as he hit the rail in seventh place for $31,690.

New Chip Leader (Barely)

Nível 18
Brian Yoon
Brian Yoon

Danny Wong's chip lead has been erased, but only ever so slightly by three-time bracelet winner Brian Yoon.

Wong raised from the small blind into Yoon's big blind. Yoon called, and the drawing began.

Wong drew two while Yoon took three, then called a bet from Wong.

The second draw saw each player take one, then check through.

They each took one again, and Wong again bet. He was then raised by Yoon, and Wong quickly folded, giving a slight advantage in the chip count to Yoon.

"Who's going to kill me?" is what Mike Thorpe has been asking for several levels now, and despite several attempts by his tablemates, he's still here.

Joao Vieira earned the nickname "Portugal" from Thorpe after sharing a table for several levels on Day 2, and he was more than willing to take his shot.

Vieira raised from under the gun and Thorpe three-bet his final 50,000 into the middle. Vieira called.

Both players took two on the first draw and one on the second. They each stood pat on the third.

Thorpe turned over {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, but Vieira had {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Thorpe was out of the tournament in eighth place for $24,910.

Thorpe Implementing Early Strategy on Short Stack

Nível 18
Mike Thorpe
Mike Thorpe

Mike Thorpe comes into the day with just three big bets, but came right in with a firm strategy.

Fold the first hand and immediately approach chip leader Danny Wong for advice.

"Show me how it's done. How do you get all the chips?", asked Thorpe as he left his table and kneeled beside Wong smiling.

No distinct strategy was discussed per se, but Thorpe's presence continues to bring a light air to the deep stages of this tournament.
