Day 1A of Event #4: $500 The Reunion No-Limit Hold'em has come to an end. The first flight drew a field of 2,649 entries, for a Day 1A prize pool of $1,112,580 in this $5,000,000 guarantee tournament. The survivors of this flight will be returning for Day 2 on Monday, October 4th at 10 a.m. local time where they will mix with the surviving players of Day 1B and Day 1C.

Dave Alfa bagged the top stack of 3,070,000 chips and some of the other notable stacks heading into Day 2 include Konstantinos Gennaios (2,650,000), Ryan Leng (2,500,000), Ryan Laplante (2,100,000), and Cate Hall (1,770,000).

Matt Affleck, James Romero, and Amir Lehavot are among the players who cashed but won’t be taking their stack with them to a second day.

Some of the players who finished outside of the money included Vanessa Kade, Qui Nguyen, Kathy Liebert, Adam Hendrix, and Jeremy Wien. However, they will have an opportunity to play in one of the other two starting flights if they choose to, with Day 1B on Saturday and Day 1C on Sunday.

Two years, ago, The Big 50 attracted 28,371 entrants to the Rio and was won when Femi Fashakin bested Paul Cullen heads up to win a prize of $1,147,499.

It remains to be seen how many entrants The Reunion will get in 2021, but with lines already snaking their way around the halls of the Rio, the turnout is shaping up to be massive.

The action is set to kickoff at 10 am local time with blinds beginning at 100-200 with a 200 big blind ante. Players will start with 50,000 in chips and players will play 22 levels or until 15% of field remaining.

The levels are 30 minutes with 20 minute breaks after every 4 levels and a 90 minute dinner break after level 14. Late registration remains open until level 10.

The survivors will return on Monday in combination with the other Day 1B and Day 1C.
