Schwartz Wins Pot; Loses Half the Break

Nível 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Jake Schwartz was the one to ask for a break at the end of the previous level and that's what they had agreed upon. However, he was involved in the last hand as Joao Vieira raised to 17,000 on the button and Adam Friedman called in the small blind. Schwartz raised to 86,000 in the big blind and Vieira reluctantly called, Friedman folded.

Both patted and Schwartz then bet 123,000, sending Vieira into the tank. Five minutes into the break, Schwartz asked "do you mind if I call the clock? I need to run to the bathroom, otherwise I would never call the clock," he apologized.

Vieira was given 30 seconds to act and folded with one second remaining as Schwartz vaulted out of his seat and towards the bathroom.

Schwartz Wins Another Pot Off Vieira

Nível 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Joao Vieira opened to 22,000 in the hijack and Jake Schwartz three-bet to 68,000 on the button. Vieira gave it some consideration and called for both to pat. The Portuguese poker pro checked and Schwartz bet just 40,000. After mulling over his decision for a while, Vieira let go once more as Schwartz pulled further ahead.

Vieira Gets Some Back

Nível 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Joao Vieira raised in the cutoff and was called by Jake Schwartz in the small blind. The {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} flop brought no major action and Schwartz then bet the {9-Spades} turn. Vieira raised and Schwartz snap-folded.

Moments later, Andrew Kelsall picked Razz on the other table. It only took a few seconds for Mike Matusow to exclaim "All you idiots playing tournament poker for a living are insane."

Adam Friedman chimed in from the other table with a big grin on the face and said "Tournament poker is the best!"

Schwartz Has "Every Trick in the Book"

Nível 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Joao Vieira raised to 18,000 in the cutoff and Jake Schwartz three-bet to 71,000 in the small blind, picking up a call by Vieira. On the {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Schwartz opted to check and Vieira made it 41,000 to go. Schwartz then check-raised to 155,000 and Vieira folded.

"Every trick in the book, eh?" Mike Gorodinsky inquired as Schwartz increased his stack further.

Negreanu and Hellmuth Chop

Nível 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Daniel Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} / {x-}
Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}

Phil Hellmuth raised the completion of Daniel Negreanu, who came along for the ride. Hellmuth bet on fourth and then ended up check-calling from fifth to seventh street. Negreanu rolled over the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} for two pair and a low for half the pot as Hellmuth had {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a ten-high straight.

Friedman Scoops Vieira In Last Hand

Nível 17 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Joao Vieira: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}
Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Clubs} / {x-}

On the tail end of a bigger pot between Joao Vieira and Adam Friedman, the former had a four-card straight showing and Adam Friedman then bet seventh street. Vieira called after brief consideration and Friedman rolled over the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for broadway to potentially claim the overnight lead in the final hand.
