Burgess' Fold Goes from Good to Bad as Beckman Doubles

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Corey Burgess raised pre-flop before Greg Beckman moved all in for about 20,000 and the player to Beckman's right re-shoved. Burgess gave it some thought but decided to fold, saying he had {10-}{10-}.

Beckman showed {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and was up against {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop gave Beckman's opponent top set. "Good fold," a tablemate said to Burgess.

But the turn and river ran out {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, which would have given Burgess the straight and knocked out both opponents. "Bad fold. From good fold to bad fold," the tablemate said.

Beckman had the lower end of the straight to crack his opponent's set and double up.

Deeb Gets Some Back Off Miles

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Tony Miles and Shaun Deeb just tangled in a pot that saw Deeb climb out of being a short-stack.

Miles was in early position when he bet 3,200 on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Deeb, from middle position, called to see the {a-Hearts} fall on the turn. Miles slowed down by checking, allowing Deeb to bet 4,400.

Miles quickly folded as Deeb went over 30,000 after being down to 10,000 earlier in the day.

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Brian Altman raised to 3,200 from early position, then called when a player in the cutoff three-bet to 8,500. Altman check-folded to a bet on a flop of {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

Despite losing this pot, Altman is still above 120,000 and one of the largest stacks in the room.
