Welcome to the Final Day of Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.

WSOP Bracelet
WSOP Bracelet

Today, 18 players return to the felt for the Final Day of Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E., live here at The Rio Hotel and Casino. All the returning players will be playing down to an eventual winner today. Each remaining participant will go home with at least $5,255, while one lucky winner will take home a brand new coveted WSOP gold bracelet alongside the $160,636 first-place cash.

The penultimate day saw Anthony Zinno (2,565,000) take the chip lead about midway through the day, and he did not look back. He carries an almost 2-1 chip advantage versus his nearest competitor, Kao Saechao(1,395,000), going into the start of this final day, with Zinno chasing bracelet number four of his poker career; and number two of the 2021 WSOP.

Also still in the tournament, and seeking to add another WSOP gold bracelet to their collection, are Randy Ohel (1,040,000), Max Pescatori (850,000), Joe McKeehen (835,000), and Ari Engel (300,000). Look for these experienced pros to keep things sharp from the moment the cards are pitched in the air until a new winner has been chosen.

Please join us on PokerNews for live updates up until the end, or live here at The Rio Hotel and Casino in the Amazon Room, where the cards are set to be in the air at 2:00 p.m. (PST) local time.

Limit Hold'em

The action was discovered on a board of {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} with Kai Hicks having checked into his opponent, Kao Saechao, who fired out a bet. After a brief pause, Hicks called.

The river was the {7-Clubs} and the action went the same way, check-bet-call, and both players tabled their hands. In the end, it was the {a-Spades}{2-Clubs} for two pair aces and deuces of Saechao's that was victorious against the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} of Hicks'.

With that hand, Saechao chipped up to 1,780,000 while Hicks was left with just 75,000 chips. He was eliminated in 18th in his next blind and took home $5,255.

Timothy Frazin Eliminated in 16th Place ($6,254)

Omaha Hi-Lo

Timothy Frazin pushed his last remaining chips in the middle on a board of {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and was called by Curtis Phelps and all cards were turned face up.

It was Phelps that held {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} against the {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} of Frazin who needed to improve or he would be eliminated.

The dealer dealt the meaningless {7-Hearts} and it was the two pair, aces and sevens alongside a nut low that scooped the pot for Phelps, and Frazin was out in 16th place.

Omaha Hi/Lo

Kao Saechao raised in early position and was called by Michael Rosenberg in the cutoff and Anthony Zinno on the button.

Saechao continued for a bet on the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop and both players called.

Action checked to Zinno on the {4-Hearts} turn, who bet. Rosenberg and Saechao called.

The same action occurred on the {4-Clubs} river and Zinno tabled {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a low and trip fours. Rosenberg and Saechao couldn't bet it and Zinno scooped the pot.
