Two in a Row for McKeehen

Nível 2 : 300/600, 0 ante
Joe McKeehen
Joe McKeehen

Joe McKeehen raised it up from under the gun and the big blind defended. The flop came {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to McKeehen who continued with a bet. The big blind check-raised and Mckeehen just called.

The {4-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and the big blind fired out a bet. McKeehen raised this time and his opponent dumped his cards into the muck. McKeehen flashed pocket aces as he raked in the pot.

On the next hand, McKeehen was looking at a raise and he defended from the big blind. McKeehen opted to check-call every street on the {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades} board. His opponent turned over {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for top pair but McKeehen rivered two pair with {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Ausmus Gets Back to Starting Stack

Nível 3 : 400/800, 0 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

It was a rough start for Jeremy Ausmus who just bought into the tournament at the start of the level but he just won a healthy pot to get back to nearly a starting stack. Ausmus opened from middle position and was called by the button and Eric Kurtzman in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kurtzman led out from the big blind. Ausmus raised and the button re-raised. Both Kurtzman and Ausmus called.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and the action checked around to the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Kurtzman led out again and Ausmus threw in a raise. The button folded and Kurtzman re-raised. Ausmus thought for a moment before making the call. Kurtzman tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} for two pair but Ausmus held {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a rivered straight.

Henson Makes Kings Up...Or a Flush

Nível 4 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Ray Henson
Ray Henson

Ray Henson raised it up in early position and was only called by Mike Thorpe in the big blind. While the two players argued which fast-food chicken place was the best in town, there was also some poker to be played.

The dealer spread the flop of {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Thorpe check-called a bet from Henson. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the action was the same to the {k-Hearts} river.

Thorpe checked once more and Henson still bet. Thorpe called and Henson turned over {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. "King's up. Can you beat it?" Henson said sarcastically as he actually turned a flush to win the hand.

The {q-Spades} landed on the turn and Silver led out with a bet. His opponent just called and the {10-Spades} paired the board on the river. Silver checked this time and then called when his opponent bet. Silver was up against {a-Spades}{k-Spades} but was able to turn a pair with {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} to take down the pot.

Nível 6 : 800/1,500, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Dave Tobin raised from early position and was called by the button and Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Negreanu led out with a bet, leaving himself just 200 chips behind. Tobin raised which got the button to fold and Negreanu stuck in the last of his chips.

Daniel Negreanu: {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Dave Tobin: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Negreanu was all in with his favorite hand but it wasn't meant to be as the {k-Clubs} on the turn and the {9-Clubs} on the river provided no help.

Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

The action folded to Felipe Ramos in the small blind who raised it up. Dan Zack re-raised from the big blind and Ramos four-bet which Zack called. The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} and Ramos led out with a bet. Zack called and the {k-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Ramos checked this time and Zack took his turn to bet. Ramos called and the {q-Spades} peeled off on the river. Ramos led out again and Zack went into the tank.

"This has gotta be the worst board to have a set on," Zack said with a smile. That got a laugh from Mike Matusow sitting at the table and eventually, Zack dumped his cards to the muck. Ramos showed {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a straight flush as he collected the pot.

Michael Lancaster raised it up in early position and was called by "Crazy" Mike Thorpe in the hijack and Felipe Ramos in the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Lancaster continued with a bet. Thorpe called and Ramos folded.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts} and Lancaster bet again.

"Let me ask you a question," Thorpe started. "Do you like to fuck?"

"Ya, I like to fuck," Lancaster responded.

"Me too. So let's fuck," Thorpe said as we threw in chips to call.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Lancaster bet one last time. Thorpe quickly called but had one request.

"Can I show first?" he asked. Lancaster allowed and Thorpe showed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} which was the winning hand.
