Hands #12-16: Cannon Good at Showdown (Completo)

Nível 33 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Hand#12: Ron Jenkins raised to 325,000 from the cutoff and Tony Yuan three-bet jammed for 2.45 million from the small blind. Joseph Hebert folded from the big blind and then Jenkins let his hand go.

Hand #13: Ryan Hagerty raised to 300,000 from the cutoff and Hebert called from the small blind to see a {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. Hebert checked and then folded when Hagerty continued for 250,000,

Hand #14: Hebert raised to 325,000 on the button and Michael Cannon three-bet to 1.3 million from the small blind. Shawn Stroke folded from the big and Hebert released.

Hand #15: Yuan raised to 300,000 from the hijack and Harrison Dobin defended the big blind to see a flop of {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Dobin then check-folded to a bet of 300,000.

Hand #16: Cannon raised to 300,000 from the cutoff and Jenkins called from the big blind to see a {4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop. Action went check-check and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Spades}. Jenkins opted to put out a bet of 350,000 and Cannon called to see the {3-Diamonds} river.

Jenkins checked and Cannon checked behind before showing the {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of nines. It was good as Jenkins mucked.

Hands #7-11: Cannon Four-Bet Shoves

Nível 33 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Hand #7: Joseph Hebert opened for 350,000 on the button and Shawn Stroke called in the big blind.

Hebert waited until the turn, betting 325,000 on {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades}, with Stroke calling. Stroke checked the {10-Hearts} and Hebert checked back, losing showdown to a hand that wasn't shown on the feed.

Hand #8: Michael Cannon opened for the first time, making it 300,000 on the button. Harrison Dobin called in the big blind.

Dobin checked the {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop and Cannon continued for 250,000, winning the pot with the wager.

Hand #9: Cannon opened again for 300,000. Stroke three-bet it to 850,000 in the next seat, folding out the blinds. Cannon jammed for 4,550,000 and Stroke went into the tank for about a minute before releasing.

Hand #10: Tony Yuan made it 300,000 under the gun and Hebert called on his left. Ron Jenkins came along in the small blind and Ryan Hagerty made it a foursome to the {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop.

The blinds checked and Yuan continued for 600,000. Hebert called and they went heads up to the {4-Diamonds}. They each checked, bringing the {a-Spades} river. Yuan checked, Hebert bet 800,000, and Yuan thought about a minute and called. Hebert won the showdown but the cards weren't picked up again.

Hand #11: Hebert opened for 300,000 under the gun and won the blinds and antes.

Gershon Distenfeld Eliminated in 8th Place ($125,885)

Nível 33 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Gershon Disttenfeld
Gershon Disttenfeld

Hand #6: Ron Jenkins raised to 375,000 UTG+2 and Gershon Distenfeld three-bet all in for 1.43 million from the cutoff. Action folded back to Jenkins and he called.

Gershon Distenfeld: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ron Jenkins: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop was no help to Distenfeld while the {10-Hearts} turn did give him a gutshot straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the {5-Hearts} river was a brick and his tournament came to an end.

Distenfeld officially finished in eighth place for $125,885, which he's already said he'll be donating to various charities.

Hands #1-5: Early Double for Dobin

Nível 33 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Harrison Dobin
Harrison Dobin

Hand #1: Ryan Hagerty opened for 300,000 under the gun and Ron Jenkins called in the big blind.

The board read {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} on the turn when Jenkins led for 300,000 more and took it down.

Hand #2: Action folded to the cutoff, where Shawn Stroke raised to 350,000. Hagerty called in the big blind and Stroke continued for 275,000 on the {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop. Hagerty called, bringing a {5-Hearts} turn. Stroke fired again with 350,000 and Hagerty called. The {10-Diamonds} river would see another barrel come from Stroke, this time 575,000.

Hagerty called and his {k-}{j-} prevailed over {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Hand #3: Joseph Hebert opened for 325,000 second to act and Gershon Distenfeld called.

Distenfeld check-folded to 225,000 on the {3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop.

Hand #4: Stroke opened for 350,000 in middle position and took the blinds and antes.

Hand #5: Harrison Dobin moved all in for 1.5 million after the two players ahead of him folded. Distenfeld shoved as well for just shy of 3 million, from the button.

Distenfeld: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Dobin: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The {2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop brought nothing for Distenfeld. The {9-Diamonds} did, though, as he picked up a straight draw. The {4-Clubs} ensured a Dobin double, though.

What Happened to Upeshka De Silva?

Upeshka De Silva

The final table was slated to begin with nine players, but that changed when three-time bracelet winner Upeshka De Silva was deemed ineligible to proceed with participation after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19

The story broke late Sunday night after two-time Global Poker Award winner Joey Ingram tweeted that De Silva had tested positive and had therefore been disqualified.

According to WSOP rules, any player who tests positive for COVID-19 prior to the start of the final table play will be disqualified and receive the minimum final table payout.

De Silva explained more about the situation in a series of follow-up tweets, with the three-time bracelet-winner explaining that he had been quarantining since Dec. 10 but ultimately tested positive on Dec. 20.
