Brazil's Yuri Dzivieleski became the latest player to find WSOP gold at GGPoker after shipping Event #42: $400 PLOSSUS for a huge payout of $227,557.

This is not all as in addition to the prize money and the WSOP bracelet, Dzivieleski also won an added WSOP Europe package valued at $15,000 for being the last player standing.

Dzivielevski is no stranger to both online and live poker success. He is currently ranked in fifth place in the world for online tournament players according to PocketFives where he was ranked top of the worldwide leaderboard several times in 2014 and 2015.

In addition to his now more than $7 million in online tournament cashes, Dzivielevski has proven himself on the live felts as well with nearly $1.2 million in live cashes. Last summer was something special for the Brazilian as he shipped found his first taste for WSOP gold when he shipped the WSOP Event #51: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better for $213,750.

Now he has a second bracelet and it is a question of whether he can win more.

Final Day Action

The PLOSSUS attracted a huge field of 4,356 entrants during its 15 opening flights. Day 2 took place last Sunday when the opening field was already trimmed down to 642 players with 538 players guaranteed at least a min-cash of $938.

The action was paused when a final table of nine was reached in this otherwise six-max event with Dzivielevski in the chip lead followed by Gabi "kidrurim" Livshitz, Tautvydas "GuliGul" Jokubauskas, Samuel "vivaegipto" Bernabeu, and Chad "ThefastLayne" Layne. Livshitz was able to take the lead nine-handed before Dzivielevski snagged it back.

More than an hour passed by on today's final table before the first elimination took place. Marcus "Phil Kessel" Cara (ninth - $14,597) entered the action with the second-lowest stack and got his chips in with top set on a flop only to be rivered by Livshitz when he completed a flush on the river.

Shortly after, Dustin "JohnSmiley1" Dirksen doubled up Matt "DNSFD" Vengrin and was short on chips. A few hands later he dusted off his stack to hit the rail in eighth place for $20,643.

Another break took place before Chad "ThefastLayne" Layne hit the rail in seventh place for $29,194 in a hand against Dzivielevski. At this point, Dzivielevski became the first player to surpass 100 million in chips.

Juan "Darth Vador" Perez came into the final table as the short stack but managed to parlay this into a sixth-place finish worth $41,287. He doubled up three times against Dzivielevski but was unable to double one last time against Livshitz to put an end to his potential Cinderella final table run.

The action was then quickly down to four players after Jokubauskas ousted Bernabeu in fifth place for $58,388.

Livshitz then won the biggest hand at that point in the day by doubling up against Jokubauskas to take the chip lead. This was short-lived.

Jokubauskas was left with less than 2.5 big blinds but went on a tear including doubling up twice against Livshitz. Dzvielevski had the lead before the second double up but this went to Jokubauskas to generate a 'zero to hero' type of buzz.

Livshitz and Jokubauskas battled one last time and Jokaubauskas came out on top to eliminate Livshitz in fourth place for $82,573.

Jokubauskas started three-handed play with more than half the chips in play. But blinds were high and it was anyone's game.

Dzvielevski won a pot off Jokubauskas to regain the chip lead and all of sudden Jokubauskas was short on chips after he doubled up Vengrin.

Jokubauskas was then eliminated in third place for $165,147. He was unable to win a hand with {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} against Dzivieleski's {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs} after he got it in preflop and the {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} ran out on the board.

Heads-Up Action

Dzivieleski entered heads-up play with a 4:1 chip advantage against Vengrin.

Vengrin managed to double up to trim the edge to a 2:1 chip advantage but Dzivielevski chipped away a few pots to regain a 4:1 chip advantage when the final hand took place.

Yuri Dzivielevski opened for 3x from the button with {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Matt "DNSFD" Vengrin called with {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Spades} with a little more than a pot-sized bet behind.

Vengrin bet the pot then called off for the rest of his chips after the {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} came on the flop. Neither the {2-Diamonds} on the turn nor the {4-Spades} on the river was of any use to Vengrin and he was eliminated in second place for $165,417.

Meanwhile, Yuri Dzivielevski has won the 2020 WSOP PLOSSUS at GGPoker for a whopping $221,557, a WSOP Europe package valued at $15,000, and, of course, his second WSOP gold bracelet.
