Boivin Bubbles the $100,000 High Roller

Nível 20 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Thomas Boivin
Thomas Boivin

Thomas Boivin raised to 1,200,000 in middle position and Igor Kurganov announced all in on the button. The action folded back to Boivin who quickly called off his last 500,000 chips. Once the action at the other table was complete, the cards were on their backs.

Igor Kurganov: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Thomas Boivin: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Kurganov was in a dominating position heading to the {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. Boivin picked up some chop outs but the {k-Hearts} on the turn would spell an end to his run. The {10-Spades} on the river was just a formality and Boivin became the bubble boy. The remaining 15 players are all guaranteed at least $156,316.

Nível 17 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

There was a big three-way all in pre-flop after Byron Kaverman shoved pre-flop for 490,000, Sam Grafton re-shoved from the small blind and Bonomo called all in from the big blind.

Byron Kaverman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Sam Grafton: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Justin Bonomo: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Grafton was poised to knock out two players with both Kaverman and Bonomo holding each other's outs. The board ran out {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Grafton chipped up to almost seven million chips.

Chen Scores Monster Pot With River Raise

Nível 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
James Chen earlier in the summer

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} putting a straight on the board and with 500,000 in the middle already, Byron Kaverman bet a cool 1,100,000.

His opponent was James Chen who used a time extension before raising to 2,600,000.

Now it was Kaverman's turn to tank, use a time extension and then call. Chen held {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a queen-high straight and Kaverman mucked.

Ausmus Wins a Flip vs Kempe

Nível 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

After a couple of preflop raises, Rainer Kempe and Jeremy Ausmus got all of their chips in the middle. When the cards were tabled, they were off to the races.

Jeremy Ausmus: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Rainer Kempe: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} to give Ausmus the lead with a pair of aces. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Ausmus won the hand. Once the chips were counted, Kempe was the player at risk for 880,000 and Ausmus having him covered by only 15,000 chips.

Defending Champion Petrangelo Eliminated

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Igor Kurganov opened to 70,000 on the button and Nick Petrangelo defended his big blind. The pair checked the {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop and the turn was the {4-Diamonds}. Petrangelo bet 160,000 and Kurganov called.

The river was the {q-Clubs}. Petrangelo bet 440,000 leaving himself 20,000 behind. Kurganov moved all in and Petrangelo called.

Petrangelo showed {q-}{7-} for a rivered pair of queens and a blocker to the straight, but Kurganov held {7-Spades}{8-Spades} and had turned a straight which sent the 2018 $100,000 High Roller champion to the rail.

Vogelsang Wins Big Flip Against Aldemir

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Koray Aldemir opened and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 215,000. Aldemir four-bet to 440,000 and Vogelsang five-bet all in. Aldemir called for around 1,400,000 and was all in.

Koray Aldemir: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Christoph Vogelsang: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} didn't help anyone, not even giving Aldemir a straight draw as any queen would improve Vogelsang to a house. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river the {4-Diamonds} and Aldemir was eliminated.

Double Elimination Boosts Kaverman into Chip Lead

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Byron Kaverman earlier in the summer
Byron Kaverman earlier in the summer

Action was on a {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop with three players all in. Mike Lim held {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and was the short stack, with Adrian Mateos all in for around a million with {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for two pair.

Byron Kaverman was the big stack but held an inferior flush draw with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

The turn {k-Spades} gave him a pair and the river {k-Diamonds} gave him trips to send both Lim and Mateos to the rail, and move up above four million in chips.
