The second flight of the ever popular Crazy Eights tournament has wrapped for the day and Michael Kane will return to Day 2 in fantastic shape, with 1,360,000 chips to play with. He is one of only two players who built a seven-figure stack over the 19 levels of play, with Dara Taherpour (1,030,000) being the other. Kane is also the overall leader at the moment, nipping ahead of Russian Pro Arsenii Karmatckii, who finished Day 1a with 1,323,000.

Richard Bai (535,000), Calvin Anderson (400,000), James Dempsey (301,000), Boris Kolev (200,000) and Robert Cheung (102,000) are some of the notables to secure themselves a seat in Day 2 which returns on Monday 1st July at midday, here at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. All in all, there were 138 runners who made it through and they join the 191 from Day 1a, which is a total of 329 through so far.

There were many well-known names in the crowd today but the majority of them failed to find a bag at the end. With two more starting flights available though, we may not have seen the last of Julien Martini, David Bach, Maria Lampropoulos, Martin Finger, Mikhail Semin, Terry Fleischer or Kiryl Radzivonau to name a few.

It all starts again tomorrow with Day 1c kicking off at 10 a.m. Sunday will see the final starting day taking place, which will also begin at 10 a.m. Don’t forget to join PokerNews then to find out all the latest news and action.
