Day 2 of Event #64: $888 - Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold'em has come to a close with only 91 players remaining from the massive 10,185 field. 1,223 players started the action-packed day, with only 670 bracelet hopefuls still remaining at the first break.

At the end of 10 hour-long levels of play, Natalia Panchenko (11,870,000), Scott Davies (11,855,000), Ryan Leng (11,765,000), 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba (9,565,000) and Roland Rokita (9,515,000) finished as the top five chip-stacks.

888 ambassador Vivian Saliba's stack grew continuously throughout the day with only one downswing happening near the end of the night when she lost close to 3,000,000 chips against Mario Hofler. Hofler and Saliba got their chips in the middle preflop, Saliba was behind and couldn't catch up on the five-card runout.

Saliba has $124,044 in earnings at the World Series of Poker alone, with 15 cashes in total, two of them coming this summer. She cashed in Event #42: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em / Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack 8-Handed for $961 and Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em for $2,393. Saliba will be battling hard to win her first WSOP gold bracelet and the first place prize of $888,888.

Out of the 1,223 players who made it to Day 2, there were a lot of well-known players busting out before the end of the day, including Alex Foxen, Greg Raymer, "Captain" Tom Franklin, Calvin Anderson, and Ben Yu.

Day 3 won't be an easy one as two WSOP gold bracelet winners, Scott Davies and Ryan Leng bagged near the top. Scott Davis has $1,372,009 in WSOP earnings alone and has a total of 78 cashes, six of them coming this summer already. Davies largest cash came in Event #3: BIG 50 - $500 No-Limit Hold'em when he finished in 424th place for $4,397. Davies will be looking to take home his second coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet at the end of this tournament.

All of the remaining 91 players are guaranteed to take home $6,957 and will be fighting to win $888,888 for first place along with the prestigious WSOP gold bracelet. They will resume Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at 12 noon, with play resuming at level 30, playing 60-minute levels, with a 15-minute break after every second level and a 60-minute dinner break after the 6th level (approximately 6:30 p.m.) and play down to the final eight.

Hofler Takes a Chunk Out of Saliba

Nível 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Mario Hofler
Mario Hofler

After a series of raises preflop, Mario Hofler was all-in for 2,985,000 and Vivian Saliba called.

Mario Hofler: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Vivian Saliba: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Hofler had Saliba dominated and nothing changed on the {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board, giving him a massive double up with a pair of tens, ace-king kicker.

On a board of {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades} there was already a little more than 2,500,000 in the middle in a heads up pot. Vivian Saliba was faced with a 500,000 bet and snap-called by throwing in one 25,000 chip. Saliba's opponent tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and she tabled {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} to win with trip aces queen-kicker.

Jaspal Brar

Jaspal Brar went all in for his last 705,000 from under the gun and got a caller in the cutoff.

Jaspal Brar: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

It didn't look good for Brar when the cards were turned over and no help came on the {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Brar's card came in on the turn however with the {k-Hearts} giving him top pair. The river fell a harmless {9-Hearts}, and Brar got the double.

Nguyen Shoves on the Turn Against Davies

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Scott Davies raised from the cutoff to 180,000 and Tam Nguyen defended his big blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Nguyen checked and Davies continued for 150,000. Nguyen check-raised to 500,000 and Davies made the call.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Nguyen wasted no time announcing that he was all in. Davis took a few seconds and mucked his hand.
