Badugi

Bryce Yockey got to the end from the small blind and bet, with Sumir Mathur his lone opponent in the big blind. Mathur announced a raise and Yockey sighed and put his head in his hands. Moments later, he folded, but some of his cards were exposed, showing at least the {k-Spades}.

2-7 Triple Draw

Jon Turner raised in the cutoff and Mike Gorodinsky called. Yockey raised his remaining chips to 29,000 and Turner reraised. Gorodinsky called. We didn't catch the first draw, but Gorodinsky check-called again then asked for one. Yockey needed three and Turner was pat. Gorodinsky then check-called again and patted. Yockey took one and Turner remained pat.

Gorodinsky check-called a final bet but he couldn't beat {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, flashing what looked like an eight-seven. Yockey's cards were mucked before we noted them.

2-7 Triple Draw

After grinding his way up in a few badugi pots, Andrew Brown lost a big pot to Brayden Gazlay wherein Gazlay beat him patting a ten on the last pull and Brown didn't get there and checked back.

Moments later, Brown raised and Gazlay reraised on his left in the cutoff. The others folded and Brown stuck his 22,000 in and pulled three, two and one. Gazlay needed one and one but then was pat and tabled a wheel. Brown simply threw his cards away drawing dead.

On the first pull, Mark Gregorich needed one card and Brayden Gazlay took one in the cutoff as well. Gregorich bet, Gazlay raised and Gregorich reraised all in for three bets. Gazlay called and patted after Gregorich took a card. Both players then patted.

Gazlay showed {6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}{a-} and Gregorich also had a six but it was the worst six, so he hit the rail in ninth.

A-5 Triple Draw

Mike Gorodinsky lost an A-5 triple draw pot in which he was drawing two against Jon Turner's one and check-calling down, with details of the final draw unknown. On the end, Gorodinsky check-folded in disgust and left himself with crumbs.

Then, Gorodinsky raised and Brayden Gazlay called in the small blind. Turner came along in the big. Gazlay took two, Turner three and Gorodinsky two. Turner came out betting and Gorodinsky stuck it all in, getting called by both opponents. Gazlay and Gorodinsky drew one apiece and Turner was pat. Gazlay check-called and draws stayed the same, with Gorodinsky tanking awhile before opting to pitch.

Turner showed a six-perfect when Gazlay mucked and Gorodinsky showed {6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} but picked up a {10-}.

Jon Turner raised and David Gee three-bet all in for 54,000 in the small blind. Turner called and each player drew two. Then, each drew one. Then, Gee drew one and Turner had a decision.

"I don't know ace well enough," he said with a sigh as he thought.

Finally, he patted and rolled over {10-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{a-}. Gee turned over {a-}{2-}{4-}{5-} for a strong draw.

"Squeeze it," someone in the crowd urged.

Gee did but shook his head and turned over a {5-} for a pair.

Badugi

Jake Schwartz raised blind versus blind and Dan Zack called. Schwartz needed one and Zack two and Schwartz bet again. Zack called and they both drew one. Schwartz checked this time and called a bet from Zack, leaving 7,000 back. They drew again and Schwartz checked. Zack bet.

After about a minute, Schwartz opted to save it for one last stand.

"I can't win," he muttered.

The next hand, Brayden Gazlay raised under the gun. Schwartz called it off and Jesse Hampton called in the big blind. Hampton took one, Gazlay was pat and Schwartz took one. Hampton check-called a bet, draws remained the same, and Hampton check-called off his last 37,000.

Again, draws repeated, and Gazlay showed {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a rough pat badugi.

Hampton was drawing smooth with {2-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs} but picked up a worthless {q-Spades}. We didn't see Schwartz's draw but he wound up with {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to miss as well.
