Welcome to Day 1 coverage of Event #49: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship.
The 2019 World Series of Poker is just about at the halfway point and the mixed-game portion of the docket is in full swing. Just a week after the $1,500 version of this variant took place, it's time for the world championship of Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw to take center stage.
Since this tournament's inception in 2014, the event has bounced between 80 and 120 entrants and a few of poker's biggest names have emerged victorious. Tuan Le kicked it off by going back-to-back in 2014 and 2015. John "World" Hennigan won his then fourth of six bracelets in 2016, while Ben Yu took it down in 2017 to win the second of his three bracelets. Nicholas Seiken is the defending champion, and it's likely that all of these past champions will be in the field today.
