Will Hanh Tran Emerge Victorious for a Second Straight Year in $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw?

The stage is set for defending champion Hanh Tran as Day 3 of Event #33: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw draws near. Play will commence at 2 p.m. local time with 17 players returning to battle for the top prize of $144,027 and the WSOP gold bracelet.
It took two long days and 20 hours of play to make it here with 467 entries total creating a prize pool of $630,450. Play on Day 2 went until the small hours of the morning and saw Tran find himself to be the chip leader at the close of play, bagging 457,000.

Five other former bracelet winners still remain, including Frankie O’Dell - a winner during this 2019 World Series - whose rampant aggression at the end of Day 2 saw him continue to climb into third place on the leaderboard. Joining him in the lineup of bracelet winners still in contention are David Bach (415,000), Benny Glaser (332,000), Carol Fuchs (203,000), and Daniel Strelitz (166,000).

Another player to watch out for is Jared Bleznick, who is just behind Tran in chip counts with 449,000. Bleznick also has history in this event, having received a lifetime ban in 2016 after finding himself down to his last 1,000 with to the of Andrey Zaichenko. Bleznick drew one card and after it did not help him improve, he crumpled up the card and then followed suit with the rest of his hand. The ban ended up being reversed after two days and Bleznick will return again this afternoon, looking to wrap up his unfinished business on the quest for gold.

Horacio Chaves Cortes was all in from under the gun for his last 10,000 and had action from Robert Campbell on the button and Hanh Tran in the small blind with both players checking through action after the second draw. All three players took one card on the final draw and Tran led out on the end. Campbell raised and Tran took a second before looking him up.

Martin Sawtell had doubled his short stack with an eighty-seven and soon after ended up all in again. His raise in the cutoff was three-bet by Steven Tabb in the big blind and Sawtell called. Both drew one and Tabb bet, Sawtell raised with 4,000 behind and Tabb called.

Both then stood pat and Tabb check-called the all in to see both pat again.

Tabb turned over for a number four and Sawtell ended up second-best with to bow out in 16th place for $5,912

Action was heads up between Jason Papastavrou in the hijack and Robert Campbell on the button with each player having put four bets in before the draw. Papastavrou stood pat on the first draw and Campbell took one. Papastavrou then bet and Campbell called and second draws again went pat and one.

After the second draw, Papastavrou went all in for his last 11,000 and Campbell made the call. Final draws were pat and one for the third time and after receiving his final card, Campbell immediately tabled his hand.

The early casualties continue at a rapid pace as Daniel Strelitz has been eliminated in 14th place. Having doubled Michael Noori earlier, he was then all in against Jared Bleznick.

On the final draw, Bleznick stood pat while Strelitz took one. Bleznick tabled and Strelitz had the same draw but bricked.

Strelitz takes home $5,912 for his efforts and there will be a redraw for the last two tables when the field is down to the final 12 players.

Within two hands, the stack of Carol Fuchs has been reduced to zero.

First she clashed with Michael Noori when she raised the button and Noori three-bet the small blind, Fuchs called. Fuchs drew one and Noori took one. Noori bet and received a call before both drew one and checked. Once again both drew one and Noori bet, Fuchs folded with just 13,000 behind and was shown a .

Fuchs then went all in the next hand and Kyle Miaso raised out of the small blind to 20,000. Jared Bleznick three-bet to 30,000 and Miaso called. All three took two on the first draw and Miaso as well as Bleznick checked. On the second draw, Fuchs and Miaso took one and Bleznick took two. Miaso bet and Bleznick called.

Fuchs and Miaso stood pat and Bleznick drew one, but ended up folding to a bet of Miaso.

Fuchs turned over her and Miaso tabled a seven to eliminate Fuchs in 13th place for $5,912.

Jared Bleznick opened the action with a raise from the cutoff and was met with a three-bet from Frankie O'Dell in the small blind. O'Dell drew one and Bleznick two and O'Dell fired a continuation-bet after the draw. Bleznick called and second draws went one and two. O'Dell bet again and Bleznick made the call. Final draws were pat and one and O'Dell fired once again, leaving himself 4,000 behind. Bleznick called.

O'Dell tabled and the dealer announced a ninety-eight. Bleznick immediately tabled his hand and O'Dell shook his head as his hand became visible, taking down the pot with an eighty-seven.

On the very next hand, O'Dell called off his remaining chips to an open from Bleznick and all other players folded. Bleznick took the side pot while draws went two and one, one and one, and one and one.

David Bach defended from the big blind and both players drew two cards, with Campbell's discards flipping face up and becoming exposed. Bach then bet out and Campbell raised. Bach called and drew one on the second draw. Campbell stood pat behind him and fired a bet in upon being checked to. Bach called and final draws again went one and pat. Bach checked his final card and tapped the table to check.

Campbell checked behind and tabled , with the dealer announcing a ninety-eight to Bach. Bach acknowledged and tossed his cards toward the muck.
