Ferguson's Got Aces in the Hole

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
David Kluchman: {x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Ferguson brought it in with the {3-Spades}, then made it two bets after Kluchman completed. Kluchman called, then called a bet on fourth street. Ferguson bet again on fifth, and Kluchman thought for a minute before folding, preserving his last 6,000. Ferguson showed the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} before scooping in the pot.

"I figured that out a little late," Kluchman told Ferguson.

It's time for Day 2 of Event #27: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better at the 50th Annual World Series of Poker and cards will be in the air at 2 p.m. The tournament attracted 460 players and a total of 195 players survived the first day of the tournament. Dave Alfa sits on top of the leaderboard with 87,900 in chips.

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better was already on display at this year's World Series of Poker but only as a part of the mix in H.O.R.S.E. and in eight-game. The game is now played by itself and plenty of familiar faces came down to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Voice of the WSOP Norman Chad is still in the tournament with 48,000, three-time bracelet winner Barbara Enright bagged 68,800, and six-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu ended Day 1 with 38,600.

Benjamin Dobson took down the tournament in 2018. He won the tournament by beating a 596-player field to capture his first piece of World Series of Poker jewelry. He won the $173,528 first-place prize and he is looking to repeat his performance from last year. He ended Day 1 of the tournament with 20,000 chips and the first limits of the day will be 1,000/2,000.

The winner of the tournament takes home $142,801 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet. Cash will be reserved for 69 players that will cash for at least $2,265. A spot at the final table will guarantee a player at least $9,211. The plan is to play ten 60-minute levels today.

PokerNews will be on the tournament floor to provide continuous coverage of the tournament.
