A total of 157 runners came back for Day 2 of Event #76: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. at the Rio All-Suites and Casino. When the last chance saloon had closed for business there was just 19 left, with three-time bracelet winner Brian Hastings bagging the chip lead, with a tremendous 667,000 in chips.

Some other big stacks moving on at the end of ten levels of play are Australia's Tim Marsters (572,000), four-time bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (416,000), France's Bruno Fitoussi (382,000), and Ben Landowski (364,000) rounding out the top five.

The star-studded lineup in the field to start Day 2 had many bracelet winners make it through to Day 3 including John Hennigan (361,000), Dutch Boyd (347,000), Andrew Brown (190,000), Carol Fuchs (132,000), Tony Ma (56,000) and six-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro (51,000).

It was on level 17 when Richard Fuller sent Brandon Shack-Harris home as the bubble boy with a higher two pair. All players were then guaranteed a min-cash of $4,462, Ryan Himes being the first one in the money as he was eliminated in the same hand as Shack-Harris but had a larger stack.

There were many notable players that made the money but were not fortunate enough to last until Day 3 including Phillip Hui (20th Place - $6,524), Benjamin Dobson (23rd Place - $6,524), Eli Elezra (24th Place - $6,524), Dan Heimiller (26th Place - $5,694), Brock Parker (35th Place - $5,105), Justin Liberto (36th Place - $5,105), David Singer (38th Place - $5,105), and Ben Yu (53rd Place - $4,462).

Dobson Out in Two Steps

Nível 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Benjamin Dobson
Benjamin Dobson

Omaha Hi-Lo

Both Jeff Madsen and Benjamin Dobson already had 70,000 each in front of them when the turn was dealt on {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Madsen bet 20,000 and Dobson called. The river was the {2-Spades} and Madsen bet again. Dobson, with 45,000 behind, peeked at his hole cards, but couldn't find a call and gave it up.

Razz

A few hands later, Dobson's final few bets went in on fourth street in Razz.

Benjamin Dobson: {A-}{3-} / {6-}{6-}{Q-}{Q-} / {K-}
Jesse Hampton: {X-}{X-} / {4-}{4-}{4-} - folded on fifth
Dutch Boyd: {A-}{5-} / {6-}{9-}{6-}{9-} / {2-}

It was likely the weirdest Razz rundown of the day, with players catching pairs all over. Hampton indicated he started with {2-}{3-} in the hole but gave it up on fifth. Dobson started with an {A-}{3-}{6-} but eventually made just a king-queen low. Boyd made a nine-six and Dobson went to the rail in 23rd.

Elezra to the Rail

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra

Omaha Hi-Lo

Eli Elezra raised from the button and Hye Park put him all in from the big blind. Elezra called and the players turned over their hands.

Hye Park: {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Eli Elezra: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Park was still ahead with his nickels. The {5-Diamonds} gave Park a set and Elezra would need a queen or low card to run out. The river was of no help as the {k-Clubs} hit the board. Elezra was eliminated and Park added to his stack.

Daryn Firicano brought it in with the {3-Diamonds}. John Hennigan completed, Felipe Ramos called and Firicano folded. Hennigan paired up on fourth street and bet, Ramos called.

On fifth street, Ramos caught a pair of open tens but checked. Hennigan bet and Ramos called. Ramos decided to lead out on sixth street, leaving himself with 6,000 behind, and Hennigan called. On seventh street, Ramos check-called his final 6,000 all in.

"Aces up," Hennigan said as he revealed {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Ramos showed {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for tens and fours and was eliminated in 37th place.

Brock Parker: {X-}{X-} / {8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / {X-}

Mikhail Semin was already all in when action was on fifth street. Aditya Prasetyo bet, Eli Elezra called, and Brock Parker went in the tank. While Parker was thinking, Elezra tried to lighten the mood.

"I block the straight flush," he laughed to Semin, pointing at the three of spades he just caught.

Parker eventually decided to call. On sixth street, Prasetyo bet all in and both Elezra and Parker called.

"Thinking of a card," Elezra sang.

Both active players checked the river. Prasetyo rolled over {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for kings up, Semin showed {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for just a pair of queens and was eliminated.

Elezra rolled over his cards in one fell swoop, not having checked his river card. He revealed {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a straight, Parker mucked, and Elezra scored the double knockout while apologizing to both players.

Fuller Takes Two Out, Shack-Harris is the Bubble Boy

Stud Hi-Lo

Brandon Shack-Harris was all in for his remaining 2,500, Richard raised to 7,500, and Ryan Himes called all in for his remaining 7,500. The hand played out like so:

Richard Fuller: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} / {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} / {7-Hearts}
Ryan Himes: {6-Hearts}{7-Spades} / {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {k-Hearts}
Brandon Shack-Harris: {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs} / {10-Hearts}

Fuller's queens over eights took down the pot, eliminating both opponents with Himes finishing in the money for $4,462 and Shack-Harris being placed as the bubble boy due to starting the hand with a smaller stack than Himes.

Tony Ma: {X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} - fold on sixth

On sixth street, Lee Markholt bet with aces showing. Jorden Siegel put in two bets and Tony Ma went deep in the tank. Ma took so long that the clock got called on him.

"A clock in stud-8? I didn't even know we have that," laughed Richard Sklar.

Ma eventually let it slide and Markholt put in the extra bet. On seventh street, Markholt, first to act, bet into Siegel.

"That's not good," Siegel said. "You have a seven low?" he asked before calling it off.

Markholt indeed had it and spread out {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a seventy-six to go with his aces. Siegel couldn't beat either side to give Markholt the scoop.

Final Mixed Game Event of 2018 WSOP Continues at 2 p.m.

Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

The 2018 World Series of Poker might be in its final week, but there are still several fantastic events that haven't awarded their bracelet winner yet. The final two days of the Main Event are upon us, the $50,000 High Roller starts today, and on Sunday cards will be in the air for the grand spectacle that is the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop.

Mixed games enthusiasts have no need to worry, as there's a highlight for them planned as well. Event #76: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. continues with its second of three days at 2 p.m. 354 players showed up to prove their merit in the rotation of Limit Hold'em, Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Stud Hi, Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better and Razz. 152 players survived the first day, with one of the premier mixed game specialists in the world, Adam Owen, bagging the overnight chip lead with 99,700.

Despite boasting quite the poker resumé already, Owen is still without a bracelet. That can't be said of Carol Fuchs (85,600), Andrew Brown (79,700), Frank Kassela (76,900), Dan Heimiller (72,600) and Greg Mueller (72,400), bracelet winners who all bagged solid stacks after the first day.

54 out of 152 will finish in the money, with each of them guaranteed a mincash of $4,462. The winner will receive $233,202 as well as one of the final bracelets to be awarded this summer. Action resumes in Level 11 with a small bet of 1,200 and a big bet of 2,400. Another ten levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled. PokerNews will be on the floor to cover this event wire-to-wire as we enter the final leg of the World Series.
