Bronshtein & Iacofano Seek First Bracelets on Day 3 of $1,500 Mixed Hold'em/Omaha

The third and final day of Event #72: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed will play out Thursday afternoon when chipleader, Ryan Leng, Yuval Bronshtein, and Kevin Iacofano return for action at 2 p.m. with just 15 players remaining.
Bronshtein, like everyone but Leng, will be hunting for his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Hailing from Israel, Bronshtein has over $1.1 million in career WSOP earnings but has never finished better than fourth place in any event. Iacofano's story is much of the same. Over $800,000 in WSOP earnings but no bracelet to show for it. Iacofano does have a runner-up and two third-place finishes in the last three years.

Leng returns to action with a sizeable chip lead and his sites set on his second WSOP gold bracelet. Leng has been near the top of the counts for much of the event thus far, rising to the top early on Day 1, and maintaining the position throughout play on both days. Leng took down a big pot in the final level on Day 2 from Takashi Ogura. Leng flopped a king-high flush and got two big bets paid out on the turn and river before Ogura mucked the river.
Just a couple weeks removed from the taste of victory, Leng will try and keep the heater going this afternoon. Leng captured the title and hardware along with $272,765 in Event #51: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty on June 28th.

Leng Pressures His Neighbors

Two consecutive hands of PLO saw Ryan Leng apply pressure after a few orbits of raise-and-takes on the table. The first hand started with Leng flatting in the cutoff when Samuel Welbourne opened to 25,000 in the hijack. Welbourne check-called 30,000 on the 
and the 
landed on the turn. Leng fired the maximum, betting 125,000. Welbourne took over a minute and then folded.
On the next hand, Leng opened to 23,000 and Kevin Iacofano called in the cutoff. The 
flop brought a check from Leng and Iacofano bet 30,000. Leng, however, woke up with a check-raise, potting it for 151,000. Iacofano gave up.
