David Seres Eliminated in 18th Place ($26,698)

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
David Seres
David Seres

It was a all-in pre and a cooler for David Seres. Finding {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} on the button with less than 20 big blinds must have looked so good but when he shoved, he ran into Akash Seth's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} board held for the ace-king and Seres hit the rail.

Mackey Makes a Big River Call

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
James Mackey
James Mackey

There has been a lot of back and forth across the final three tables and not many showdowns to note. That was until just now, in a hand between James Mackey and Eric Blair.

All the community cards were out and they read {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Mackey had checked to Blair, who made it 128,000 to play, which was more than the pot. After some time mulling it over, Mackey made the call and took down the pot with {j-Clubs}{9-Spades} vs Blair's {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}. More than one player at the table agreed that Mackey's call was a good one.

Bernabeau Eliminated by Lyall

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Samuel Bernabeu was on the button and it folded unopened to him. As one of the shortest stacks in the tournament, he shoved all-in and Dean Lyall called him from the small blind.

Dean Lyall: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Samuel Bernabeu: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

They were off to the races preflop but Bernabeu couldn't connect with the board and had to make his way to the payout desk. Lyall got almost a double and is now up over 30 big blinds.

Mackey Puts Guerrero to the Test

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

James Mackey opened from under the gun and was called by Justin Adams on the button and Jimmy Guerrero in the big blind. The flop fell {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {6-Diamonds} on the turn.

Guerrero led out for 58,000 and Mackey bumped it up to 175,000. Adams gave it some brief thought but laid his hand down. Guerrero, on the other hand, made the call and the {q-Clubs} completed the board. Guerrero checked to Mackey who announced all in, putting Guerrero to the test for his tournament life.

Guerrero sat with just over 400,000 and thought for well over five minutes about his decision. Greg Merson eventually called the clock and when his time reached zero, Guerrero's hand was declared dead.

Big Blind Special For Bellande

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jean-Robert Bellande
Jean-Robert Bellande

Arsenii Karmatakii opened to 35,000 on the cutoff and Jean-Robert Bellande peeled from the big blind. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Bellande checked to Karmatakii, who checked it back.

On to the {10-Spades} turn and Bellande led into the pot, which got a call from Karmatakii. The river was an {8-Clubs} and Bellande bet 85,000. Karmatakii made the call and mucked when he saw Bellande had {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, for a pair and a flush draw on the flop, which improved to two pair on the turn and finally made the flush on the river. "That was a pretty sick check on the flop", Bellande said with approval of his opponent.

As a result of that hand, Bellande was closing in on seven figures.

Brosolo Eliminates Reard

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded to Alexandre Reard on the button who shoved all in for 221,000. Yann Brosolo asked for a count from the big blind and then made the call to put Reard at risk.

Yann Brosolo: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Alexandre Reard: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

It was a coin flip heading to the flop of {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Reard still held the lead but Brosolo picked up a flush draw to go with his two overcards. The turn was the {q-Hearts} giving Brosolo the best hand and the {8-Hearts} on the river was no help to Reard.

Finger Takes it Down Preflop

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Finger
Martin Finger

David Seres opened the button and Kacper Pyzara flatted on the button. Martin Finger was sat in the small blind and he counted out a three-bet of 127,000. Seres asked him how much he was playing behind (he had 305,000 left), before opting to fold. Pyzara did the same and Finger is back over the half a million mark.
