There will be 152 players returning to their seats when the action resumes at 2:00 p.m. local time for Event #46: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better. In search of his seventh World Series of Poker gold bracelet, Daniel Negreanu is still in the hunt after bagging 42,200 chips on Day 1.
Negreanu will find himself seated at the same table as other bracelet winners, Marco Johnson (28,000) and Cyndy Violette (42,500) to start the day. They will all be chasing Sergio Ramirez, who ended Day 1 with a whopping 139,700 chips. Some other notables to keep an eye on throughout the day include Eric Rodawig (123,400), Kate Hoang (76,900), Scott Abrams (74,400), Robert Mizrachi (62,500), Scott Clements (46,700), and a short-stacked Phil Ivey with 8,100 chips.
It will still be quite some time until the money bubble is reached with only 61 players getting paid. In a game where there is a lot of pots being chopped, the eliminations will be fewer and farther in between. When the players do reach the money, a min-cash will be worth $3,736 while the players at the top of the leaderboard will have their sights set on the $214,291 first-place prize.
The action will resume on level 11 and the schedule dictates another ten 60-minute levels to be played today. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level. At the end of ten levels, the remaining players will bag their chips to return for Day 3, the final day where a champion will be crowned.
