Chen Chops a Pot; Shulman Loses One

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The majority of hands in this very specific game type will end in a split pot and one such hand saw Pete Chen involved. He had {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} on a board of {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} and won the high portion of the pot with top two while his opponent had {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for the low.

Allyn Shulman has also been spotted in the field and proceeded to lose an early pot when she bet the heads-up flop of {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} in the cutoff. Her sole opponent in the small blind called and the {6-Spades} turn was checked through. The small blind bet the {J-Diamonds} river and Shulman called, but was unable to beat the kings and jacks of her opponent. "I also had two pair," Shulman nodded while tossing her cards into the muck.

Kessler Scoops an Early Pot

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

"Hey Allen, which face is it today?" Raymond Davis joked when taking a seat right next to James Woods. Davis, who has been clashing with Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler on social media regularly, is sporting a two-face shirt of ... Kessler. The latter was just involved in a pot and his raise was called by two players. Kessler's bet on the {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop was called by just one opponent and the same then repeated on the {2-Clubs} turn and {J-Hearts} river.

Kessler turned over {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and his opponent flashed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} to receive just one quarter of the pot.

The first non-Hold'em Event of the 2018 World Series of Poker kicks off today at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with Day 1 of Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better. Some of the biggest names in mixed games are expected to take a shot at the elusive golden bracelet and the defending champion of the event is Benjamin Zamani.

One year ago, American poker pro Zamani defeated a 905-entry strong field to claim the lion's share of the $1,221,750 prize pool with a top prize of $238,620 and his second WSOP bracelet. The current year has also been kind to Zamani already, as he emerged victorious once more in Las Vegas after taking down the WSOP Circuit $1,675 Main Event at Planet Hollywood for $192,152 and his first WSOP Circuit ring.

All players receive 7,500 in chips to start and the levels last 60 minutes each. Day 1 will feature a total of 10 levels with a 15-minute break every two levels and the late registration closes at the start of Level 9 at approximately midnight local time. The three-day tournament will play down to a champion on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018.

The first bracelet winner of the 2018 WSOP has already been crowned in the early morning hours, as Elio Fox joined the two-time champion's club after his victory in Event #2: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em. Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em will play down to a champion starting at 12 p.m. local time and one hour prior to that, Event #3: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout gets underway.
