Matthew Ashton raised from the hijack seat and he was called by Talal Shakerchi in the small blind and Adam Owen in the big blind. Shakerchi and Owen both took two cards while Ashton took one.
Action checked to Ashton after the draw and he bet. Shakerchi and Owen both called. On the second draw, Shakerchi took one while Owen took two and Ashton stood pat. Action checked to Ashton once more and he bet again. Shakerchi called while Owen folded.
On the final draw, Shakerchi took one more and Ashton stood pat. Shakerchi then decided to lead out and Ashton called. Shakerchi showed his 
and it was good to earn him the pot when Ashton mucked his hand.

Michael Mizrachi and Brian Rast are the only two players to have won this event twice, and consequently they sit first and second on the all time list for Poker Players Championship earnings. Freddy Deeb sits third on the back of winning the Poker Players Championship with the biggest first prize.
The only two players in the top ten that haven't won a Poker Players Championship is Andy Bloch and John Hanson. Bloch took second back in 2005 to David "Chip" Reese while also adding a further three cashes and one final table. Hanson sits ninth overall on the back of two final tables and two cashes.
