Scott Clements
Scott Clements

A total of 799 entries took to the felt in Event #30: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, but just 130 will return for Day 2 action. When play resumes at 12 noon local time, the field will be just 10 eliminations away from the money. A min-cash is good for $2,255, but all eyes are fixed on the top prize of $217,123 and WSOP gold bracelet.

Michael Heritsch is currently at the head of the pack with 141,000. Frank Williams (128,100), Aaron Anderson (123,700), Mike Shin (121,600), and Pim van Holsteyn (118,800) round out the top five stacks.

Quite a few familiar faces advanced alongside the chip leaders, including two-time bracelet winner Scott Clements (97,800) and 2012 Main Event runner-up Jesse Sylvia (92,800). Victor Ramdin (73,500), DJ MacKinnon (64,300), Dutch Boyd (61,700), Eoghan O'Dea (60,300), Jared Hamby (34,200), and Scott Davies (24,400) are also still in the hunt.

The plan for Day 2 is to play 10 one-hour levels with 15-minute breaks every two levels and a one-hour dinner break after six levels (at approximately 6:30 p.m.). Blinds will be 600/1,200 when play resumes with Level 11 and the Day 2 seat draw can be found below. The remainder of the field is scheduled to play down to a winner on Day 3.

Double Knockout Puts Riley Back On Top

Nível 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Ismael Bojang
Ismael Bojang

Ismael Bojang limped in from under the gun and Michael Hertisch raised to 8,000 from the hi-jack. Phillip Riley called from the cutoff and it folded back to Bojang who made it 35,600. With the action on Hertisch he moved all in for 114,000 and Riley called.

Bojang put his last 50,000 into the pot and the hands were shown with both Bojang and Hertisch at risk for their tournament lives.

Phillip Riley: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Michael Hertisch: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Ismael Bojang: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Riley improved to jacks full of nines to crack the aces of both opponents and score the double knockout. Riley has moved back into the chip lead with 380,000 and just 62 players remaining.

Riess Triples Up

Nível 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess was in the small blind and got his short stack in before the flop against two players, Victor Ramdin in the hijack and Jody Fayant in the cutoff.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Ramdin checked, and Fayant checked behind.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and Ramdin bet 15,000. Fayant clicked it back to 30,000, and after brief consideration, Ramdin folded.

"Full house," said Fayant as he got ready to table his hand.

"I've got a full house, too," Riess replied with a smile.

Ryan Riess: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Jody Fayant: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Riess had the pot all but locked up and Fayant needed the case ten in order to stack him. The {3-Spades} hit the river and Riess took the pot to triple up.

Xu Straightens Out Taylor on the River

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
George Xu
George Xu

George Xu raised to 12,000 from late position and Darren Taylor called from the button. They went heads up to the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and Xu continued with a bet of 15,000. Taylor moved all in for 69,000, sending Xu deep into the tank for over two minutes.

Eventually a clock was called on Xu, and with just five seconds left to make his decision, he called.

George Xu: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Taylor: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

"I was hoping you didn't have a hand like that," Xu said as Taylor rolled over his ace-king with the nut flush draw. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Taylor was just one card away from the double-up, but the {k-Spades} hit the river. Xu improved to the nut straight on the river and Taylor was eliminated.

Jeanmarc Thomas: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Kenneth Hicks: {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Thomas improved to two pair queens and tens to earn the pot and the elimination. Hicks is the 27th-place finisher in Event #30: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha and will take home $6,037 for his efforts.

Aaron Henderson Eliminated in 26th Place ($6,037)

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Aaron Henderson
Aaron Henderson

Aaron Henderson raised to 15,000 from middle position, Farid Jattin was next to act and three-bet to 49,000, and Hernandez four-bet to 150,000. After brief consideration, Jattin called.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Henderson moved all in for what looked like about 100,000. Jattin quickly called to put him at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Aaron Henderson: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Farid Jattin: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Henderson had the lead with aces and the nut-flush draw but Jattin had lots of room to improve with his wrap. The {9-Spades} on the turn made Jattin's straight and left Henderson in need of help on the river. The {3-Spades} changed nothing and Jattin took the pot to end Henderson's run in this tournament.

Ramdin Doubles Twice

Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

Scott Clements raised to 20,000 from late position and Victor Ramdin moved all in from the cutoff for 55,000. Danny Woolard raised the pot from the button and Clements folded.

Woolard turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Ramdin showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}. "I have a flush draw," joked Ramdin before the dealer spread the {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Ramdin flopped top two pair and the turn {3-Clubs} and river {j-Diamonds} were no help to Woolard.

Just one hand later, there was already about 140,000 in the pot on the {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Clements moved a stack of orange chips forward, covering Ramdin who called for his last 65,000. Clements showed {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Ramdin turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

The turn {5-Diamonds} and river {8-Diamonds} were no help to Clement and Ramdin doubled for a second time with aces and eights.
