Stout Gets a River Raise Through

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

From the hijack, Matt Stout raised to 400 and action folded around to the big blind who called.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} and the big blind checked to Stout who bet 350. The big blind called.

Both players checked on the {6-Hearts} turn to see the {7-Clubs} on the river. There, the big blind led out with a bet of 1,100. Stout thought for a second, then raised, making it 3,100. His opponent thought for a bit, then released his hand, allowing Stout to take down the pot.

After the hand, Niall Farrell joined the table.

Vieira Suffers Nasty Bad Beat

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Joao Vieira (as seen in a previous event)
Joao Vieira (as seen in a previous event)

Joao Vieira was in a three-way pot on the flop of {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. A player fired 700 from an early position and received a call from an opponent in a middle position. Vieira then raised to 2,550 in the cutoff.

The initial aggressor kept pushing and four-bet to what was believed to be announced as 7,800. The middle player folded but Vieira paused for a bit and then shoved. He was called instantly to learn some great news as his {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} was miles ahead against the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

The turn card, however, was the {2-Hearts}, giving Vieira's opponent quads and Vieira wasn't able to pick up a nine on the river. He had to ship 18,625 the opposite way and dropped to 10,000 instead of pumping his stack early into the tournament.

Fleischer's Aces Earn Him a Big Pot From Anderson

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

Action was on the river in a pot between Calvin Anderson and Terry Fleischer. There was a big pot already in the middle of the table and Anderson, who was first to act, put out a bet of 3,500 on a board of {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Terry Fleischer was the other player in the pot and he decided to raise, making it 10,000 total.

Anderson was in the tank upon our arrival at the table and he thought for a bit before calling.

"Pocket aces," Fleischer said, showing {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. It was good as Anderson mucked and Fleischer raked in the big pot.

Morgenstern's Shove Gets Through

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

Anton Morgenstern, notoriously known for his rampageous 2013 WSOP Main Event run that ended in a steep downhill on the last three tables, is back in action at the World Series.

After locking up a small cash in THE COLOSSUS, Morgenstern now switched to the $5k Event. His start hasn't been the best as he was seen short of some initial chips, but Morgenstern is now climbing back up.

With just under 10,000 in the pot, Morgensen shoved his remaining 8,000 or so out of the big blind on the turn, with two other players still involved on the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Spades} texture. Morgenstern didn't find a customer and raked in the pot without showing and while he's still trailing the starting amount, he's at least trending upward.

Bicknell Starting Off Strong

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

Action was three ways on a board showing {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Olivier Busquet was first to act. He led out with a bet of 500 and got calls from the player on his left as well as Kristen Bicknell.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Busquet checked this time, followed by two checks from his opponents. Busquet could only show {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for jack-high, while the player to his left showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for two pair. Bicknell had the best of it though with {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for two pair with a better kicker and she took down the pot.

Bicknell has started off strong in addition to that pot, building her stack up to around 35,000 already.

Kempe Can't Get Rid of Shorr

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

Rainer Kempe was in middle position, firing 350 into the pot on the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} flop. Shannon Shorr called on the button and they went to the {8-Spades} turn where Kempe continued with a bet of 1,100. Shorr called again.

The {4-Diamonds} river was a blank and Kempe didn't fire the third shell. Shorr knuckled back and Kempe showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for just king-high. Shorr turned over his {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and claimed the pot to eclipse the starting line.

Young Takes Down a Small Pot

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

On a flop of {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} Justin Young was first to act from the big blind. He checked to his one opponent on the button who put out a bet of 400. Young called.

The turn was the {A-Spades} and Young check-called again, this time a bet of 800. Both players checked on the {10-Clubs} river. Young showed down his {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and that earned him a small pot, chipping up over the starting stack mark after recently joining the field.

Deeb Probably Beat, Still Wins

Nível 2 : 50/100, 100 ante

We arrived when the floor person stood behind the dealer on Table 456, giving the last 30 second to act to a player in the small blind. He had placed a bet of 2,075 in front of him on the river of the {4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board, facing a raise from Shaun Deeb who had pulled forward two orange chips of 5,000 each.

Deeb's opponent gave up in the last few seconds of the verbal countdown and a conversation about the strenghts of the respective hands followed.

"You probably had me beat," Deeb said and followed it with a laugh.
