Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw

Dia 3 Começado

Daniel Ospina Leads Shaun Deeb & Timothy Mcdermott Into Day 3

Somebody will walk away with a World Series of Poker bracelet today as Daniel Ospina leads Shaun Deeb and Timothy Mcdermott at the final table of Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw. Just those three remain in the hunt for the title on Day 3 with cards hitting the felt at 2 p.m.

It will be a familiar position for Ospina who just three years ago reached this same final table, also arriving on Day 3 with just three players remaining. Ospina would end up finishing runner-up to Christian Pham. Ospina has a sizable lead over his counterparts and will look to improve on that 2015 performance.

2Shaun DeebUnited States477,50047

Deeb is by far the most decorated of the three finalists, though this is just his second WSOP cash in a 2-7 single draw event, his first coming in the 2017 $10,000 Championship. Deeb does have 47 total cashes over the years at the series which has earned the Las Vegas resident over $1.7 million. Deeb also has two WSOP gold bracelets to his name.

Amazingly, though it will be extremely difficult, Deeb could win two more bracelets on the same day. While Deeb was crushing Day 2 of this event, he was also running back-and-forth across the Rio hallways to play his Day 2 stack in the $1,500 Big Blind Ante event. Deeb bagged there as well so will return for Day 3 in two events this afternoon as they play down simultaneously.

Both Ospina and Mcdermott are in the hunt for their first gold bracelet. Ospina, who was born in Canada but calls Colombia his home, has 11 WSOP cashes to his name totaling $352,298. His career-best cash at the series came all the way back in 2011 where he placed fourth in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship for $180,750.

Mcdermott lands on the other side of the spectrum with just $12,519 in career tournament earnings to his name. All of those earnings stems from four cashes including a 19th-place finish in the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw event earlier this week.
