Feature Table Hands #34-38: McCorkell and Stephensen Get Active

Nível 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #34: Craig McCorkell opened for 350,000 from the hijack and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #35: McCorkell raised to 350,000 for the second hand in a row, and once again he swiped the blinds and antes.

Hand #36: Bruno Politano opened for 350,000 from the hijack only to have Martin Jacobson three-bet to 850,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Politano and he called to see a flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-}. Both players checked, the {K-Clubs} appeared on the turn, and the Brazilian checked. His Swedish opponent did the same and the {Q-Spades} completed the board on the river. Politano led out for 975,000 and Jacobson folded.

Hand #37: Felix Stephensen raised to 350,000 from the button, Craig McCorkell called from the big blind, and the flop came down {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. McCorkell checked, Stephensen bet 250,000, and McCorkell made the call. When the {6-Hearts} appeared on the turn, McCorkell checked and Stephensen fired out 530,000. McCorkell called and the two watched the {3-Clubs} complete the board on the river.

McCorkell checked for a third time, and Stephensen kept the pressure on with a bet of 850,000. McCorkell gave it some thought but ultimately conceded the hand.

Hand #38: Stephensen raised to 350,000 from the cutoff and swiped the blinds and antes.

Hand #57: Thomas Sarra Jr raised from the cutoff to 320,000 and Dan Sindelar called on the button. Andori Larrabe called from the big blind and the flop came {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The first two players checked to Sindelar who bet 525,000 and he won the pot.

Hand #58: Dan Sindelar raised to 350,000 and and Iaron Lightbourne moved all in from his immediate left for 1,330,000. The action folded back to Sindelar who immediately called.

Sindelar: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Lightbourne: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

"What do we need?" Brent Hanks yelled from the rail to his friend.

"An ace," Sindelar responded, and the dealer fanned out a flop of {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

"There she be!" Hanks yelled in excitement.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and the river the {8-Clubs}, knocking Lightbourne out in 22nd place.

Table 2 Hands #41-42: Queen-High Wins for Velador

Nível 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #41: Jorryt van Hoof opened to 375,000 and both William Tonking and Luis Velador called from the cutoff and button, respectively. The flop came {J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and when van Hoof led for 1,000,000 that prompted two swift folds from Tonking and Velador.

Hand #42: From the cutoff, Luis Velador opened to 320,000 and both Dan Smith and Scott Mahin made the call to see a {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. The action was checked to Velador who bet out 450,000 which only Mahin called. Both then checked the {A-Spades} turn.

The river brought the {8-Hearts} and again both players checked with Mahin tabling his {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a busted straight draw as Velador scooped the pot with his {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Table 3

Hand #59: Leif Force moved all in from the button for around 2.4 million and action fell on Christopher Greaves in the small blind. He announced an all in over the top, prompting a fold from Oscar Kemps in the big blind.

"I hope you're weak," said Greaves before the hands were tabled.

Greaves: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Force: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

"Come on! Come on!" chanted Force before the flop was dealt.

The dealer fanned {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} on the felt.

"F**K!" yelled Force, seeing the flop gave Greaves trip tens.

Force was looking for a jack on the subsequent streets, but found no help from the {5-Hearts} turn or {8-Spades} river. He was eliminated from play in 21st place while Greaves boosted his stack up to 6.65 million.

Feature Table Hands #39-46: Stephensen's Top Pair Wins

Nível 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #39: Eddy Sabat made it 350,000 in the cutoff, and Bruno Politano defended in the big blind. The board was {3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades} on the river, with no additional bets having gone in. After two more checks, Sabat's {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} beat the {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} of Politano.

Hand #40: Felix Stephensen raised to 350,000 in early position and was called by Sabat on his left and Martin Jacobson in the big blind. Stephensen's continuation-bet was 425,000 on the {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, and Sabat was the only caller. The {7-Clubs} led to two checks, and the dead board got slightly more live with the {a-Spades} river. Stephensen came back alive with 575,000, and Sabat called after briefly thinking. The {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} was a winner for Stephensen.

Hand #41: Mark Newhouse raised to 325,000 in the cutoff and took the pot.

Hand #42: Newhouse made it 325,000 again and won the pot.

Hand #44: Jacobson's 410,000 in middle position was a winner.

Hand #46: Stephensen won with a preflop raise to 250,000.

Table 2

Hand #45: Dan Smith raised to 350,000 in the hijack seat, Jorryt van Hoof three-bet to 900,000 out of the small blind, and Smith responded with a four-bet to 1.825 million. Van Hoof tanked for the better part of five minutes before he shipped all-in for effectively 6.425 million, having Smith covered by around 400,000.

Smith checked his hole cards one by one, then called.

Smith: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Van Hoof: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The Dutchman remained in his seat, while Smith was up out of his chair, walking around, stretching and bending. The dealer fanned {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, giving Smith a backdoor straight draw to go with his over cards, and Smith looked like he was going to jump out of his shoes when the turn brought paint.

Unfortunately for him, the {q-Spades} was a brick and the river was the {3-Diamonds}, and he was eliminated.

"It was a pleasure," Smith said, shaking a few hands at the table.

He'll earn $286,900 for his efforts, while van Hoof is up over 13 million chips.
