Back in 2007, Jerry Yang defeated a field of 6,358 to win the World Series of Poker Main Event for $8,250,000. Yang, who lives in California and splits his time between charitable poker endeavors and running his restaurant, has returned to the WSOP every year since then, and for this year's Main Event he's opted to give it a go here on Day 1c.
In a recent hand, Yang raised to 300 from the hijack and the player on the button opted to play with the former champ. The blinds both folded, and it was heads-up action to the flop. Yang continued for 350, and his opponent wasted little time in raising to 1,100. Yang quickly folded and that was the end of that.
Nothing too special, but despite losing that hand Yang is off to a good start on Day 1c. He must have won a big one early as he's currently sitting on a healthy stack of 43,000.
