2014 World Series of Poker
Due to high demand for the first-ever $1,500 Monster Stack event set to begin on Thursday, the World Series of Poker announced that an additional starting flight has been added in order to "accommodate as many people as possible."
According to WSOP VP of Corporate Communications Seth Palansky, the Monster Stack tournament will kick off at 12 p.m. on Thursday as planned, but Day 1 will now last nine levels without a dinner break. The second flight will begin at 5 p.m. and will also play nine levels, also without a scheduled dinner break.
Palansky made it clear that this is not a re-entry event. All players eliminated during the first flight will not be allowed to play in the second flight.
Players that are already registered for the event will remain part of Thursday's noon flight. However, those who wish to switch from the noon flight to the 5 p.m. flight can do so at the WSOP registration cage.
Palansky tweeted on Wednesday that he is expecting more than 4,000 for the first flight of the Monster Stack Event. "Not nearly as many will fit into Flight B," he said.
The tournament is back underway after a bracelet ceremony in which Will Givens, winner of Event #45: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em, was presented with his first gold bracelet.

We found Jake Cody in the cutoff calling a bet of 2,150 on a board, and the big blind fired again with 5,000 on the river. Cody quickly called, and the big blind showed for a full house. Cody showed how unlucky he had been, turning over for a lower boat.
Meanwhile, Tony Dunst has managed to run his stack up over 41,000 at a nearby table.

From the button, Dan Smith raised and then called a reraise of approximately 2,300 from the player in the small blind. Smith called another 1,800 on the flop, and the small blind bet 3,000 on the turn. Smith took his time, thinking for about 30 seconds before calling, and the arrived on the river. The small blind fired all in for 6,175, and Smith snap-called.
Smith showed for top set on the flop, and his opponent simply said "good game" before making sure he was covered. Smith pointed at the two cards his opponent had slid forward, as they had to be shown per World Series of Poker rules: .

Amanda Musumeci opened to 250 in the cutoff and got three-bet to what appeared to be 825 by the player on the button. Musumeci called, then she check-called 1,100 on an flop. She check-called 2,000 more on the turn, and the river led the player on the button to fire a final bet of 5,300. Musumeci quickly called once more, but her opponent turned over for a turned Broadway straight to win the pot.
