Jesse Martin opened with a raise to 14,000 and Melissa Burr announced a pot-sized raise from the button, making it 49,000 to go. Action came back around to Martin and he repotted, allowing Burr to call all in for 97,000 total.

Burr:
The board ran out , giving Burr a full house of jacks full of queens. She scored the double and now has around 210,000 in chips. Martin, on the other hand, has dropped to about 925,000.
Burr's double up keeps her alive not only in the tournament, but also in her side bet with Robert Mizrachi. Yesterday, Burr tweeted that Mizrachi laid her 15-1 odds to cash in this very event. As long as Burr has chips, she's alive and a contender for this bet.
BOOKED. @PokerRob24 just gave me 15-1 to cash the 50k ... hopefully he doesnt ROB me like he did last event.Follow @burrrrrberry

Shaun Deeb began the day as one of the chip leaders, but to say Day 3 didn't treat him well would be an understatement.
Deeb fell to a short-stack recently and was moved to a new table. It was there he would meet his end at the hands of Abe Mosseri. We missed the hand as it unfolded, but Calvin Anderson was kind enough to fill us in after the fact.
As he explained it, Deeb got it in on fourth street with eights, which were behind the queens of Mosseri.

By sixth, Deeb had made two pair, but Mosseri had, too, and his was bigger. Anderson couldn't recall the cards on seventh, but he did say they both bricked. That meant Deeb's day came to an unexpectedly early end.

Mosseri brought it in, Leah called, Duhamel completed, and Anderson raised. Only Duhamel called. Anderson led out on fourth and fifth street, Duhamel called both bets, and Anderson tossed out another bet on sixth. This time, the 2010 WSOP Main Event champion raised, and Anderson called.
Anderson slowed down, checked for the first time on seventh, and Duhamel tossed out a bet. Anderson called, and Duhamel ripped over for an eight-high straight and an eight-seven low. Anderson flashed for aces up, then mucked.

We saw Talal Shakerchi exiting the tournament area, and by the time we made our way over to the table, the cards had been scooped up. Fortunately for us, Andy Bloch remembered a bit of the action.
According to him, the hand began when Scott Seiver limped from the cutoff and Bloch raised to 15,000 from the button. A short-stacked Shakerchi then moved all in for 16,000 from the big, both his opponents called, and it was off to the flop.
Bloch didn't specify, but summed the hand up by saying Seiver, who held , ended up making a pair of eights on the turn. It proved good as Shakerchi's hand failed to top it. Thus ends Shakerchi's $50,000 Poker Players' Championship adventure.

"I said that I was going to knock him out on his birthday, I almost forgot," Frank Kassela said with a big smile as the dealer made reference to something the 2010 WSOP Player of the Year said.
Kassela has just knocked out Brian Hastings on his birthday, and he told us what happened.
Kassela made an eight perfect against Hastings' eight-six and that was it for the former winner of the $10,000 Heads Up Championship.
"I'm just a cynical old man," Kassela added, "I don't give a s**t about birthdays."
The players at the table, including Kassela, laughed. The tournament is now down to 37 players.

Allen Kessler checked to Jason Mercier on a flop of , and he fired out 31,000. David Steicke called in position, Kessler folded, and the turn was the .
Mercier reached into his stack, betting another 62,500, and Steicke tank-called. The completed the board and Mercier emptied the chamber, firing a third and final bullet worth 87,000. Steicke pulled out enough chips to make the call, mulled the decision over for two minutes or so, then committed it.
The two-time WSOP bracelet winner revealed for kings and sixes, and Steicke mucked.
