Monster Pot; Agarwal the New Boss

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Aditya Agarwal and Kevin Buck were the two biggest stacks at their table and among the leaders around the room. It was only a matter of time before they clashed.

We arrived at the table as the two big stacks were heads up to the turn with a board of {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and a massive pot in the middle. Kevin Buck announced all in and after a moment Agarwal made the call.

Buck: {j-}{j-}
Agarwal: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Agarwal had read his opponent perfectly and after the {5-Hearts} fell on the river, Agarwal was pushed the pot and vaulted into the chip lead.

Don't Touch my Blinds

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Joseph Iarussi doesn't like that the player on seat two keeps raising to steal his big blind and thus called the open raise to 8,500. On the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop he called the continuation bet of his opponent for 9,500 and then took the lead after the {9-Hearts} turn when the action got checked to him.

Iarussi bet 16,500 and got a call before taking down the pot with a 35,000 bet after the {Q-Diamonds} river.

The Final Battle

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Players have been joking that Theo Tran and Jason Johnson are one another's nemesis, as the two just seem to keep clashing since the day began with them seated side by side. Well, they have had their final battle.

By the time we reached the table, Tran's hand was already in the muck. Johnson's cards were {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and the board was {8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The dealer was counting Tran's stack to ensure that Johnson had him covered, and then swept the chips to Johnson.

Schwartz No Good with Top Pair

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Alexander Zeligman raised to 8,500 from the button and Justin Schwartz defended his big blind to see the {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. Schwartz check-raised from 9,000 to 21,000 and Zeligman moved all in. Schwartz made the call but immediately regretted it when his opponent turned over the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Schwartz was in trouble with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and could not improve anymore with the {A-Hearts} turn and the {8-Hearts} river.

Silver Doubles De Silva

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We came upon Max Silver facing a huge all-in from Vinicus Teixeira De Silva worth 115,000 chips, about half of Silver's stack. The action had reached the turn and the board was reading {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs} with about 70,000 already in the middle. Silver eventually made the call and both players had a bit of a sweat for the river card.

De Silva: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Silver: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

De Silva needed to dodge all of the clubs in the deck as well as the kings, and the {9-Hearts} on the river secured De Silva the massive double.

"Biggest pot of the tournament," another player at the table commented.

Fauteux Lures Greenstein in

Nível 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board was already complete and there were about 80,000 chips in the middle of the table. Julien Fauteux bet a tiny 6,500 and Barry Greenstein now raised to 48,000. It took only two seconds until the French-Canadian tossed in a chip for the call and he turned over {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} as winning hand.

Oh No OCrowe

Nível 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Owen Crowe made a nice comeback and got all the way into the top 100 but he ultimately lost the final coin flip for his tournament life. He was all in with {A-}{K-} and Andy Phan made the call with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The highest card on the board was neither an ace nor turn and "OCrowe" is gone.

According to Morgan, he opened the action preflop from the button and the player in the big blind three-bet shoved all in. Morgan made the call putting the player's tournament life on the line.
