Brandon Ageloff Leads Final 15 into Day 3 of Event #44

Out of the 1,914 total entries for the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Event #44 of the 2014 World Series Of Poker, 212 remained and returned to the tables of the Amazon room. Only the top 198 spots would see a payday of at least $2,919 and 10 levels later only 15 players would bag chips at the end of Day 2.

Jason Johnson was leading the field, among those that left empty-handed were for example Erick Lindgren and Sean Prendiville. The Irishman ran with pocket queens into the pocket aces of Max Silver. On the bubble itself several players survived their all in situation before three players were at risk at the same time. Justin Bond would eventually bow out in 199th place after he could not improve with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} against the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} of Sebastian Saffari.

888poker pro Sofia Lövgren was among the first to bust in the money, Jeff Madsen, Tony Cousineau, Bruno Kawauti, Tristan Wade and Jackie Glazier followed in the second payout step. Artem Metalidi lost a chip leader pot with set under set and was accompanied by Jason Wheeler, Victor Ramdin, Ylon Schwartz, Connor Drinan, Joe Serock and Jake Balsiger, who all received $3,514 each.

Max Silver bowed out in 76th place after Vinicus Teixeira De Silva doubled through him, the Brazilian passed on the chips to Jordan Morgan in two big hands though and finished in 59th place for $6,718. Barry Greenstein received the same payout after his open ended straight flush draw didn't get there against Vinny Pahuja. Thomas Muehloecker was very active and had to settle for 50th place, Loni Harwood's roller coaster day ended in 39th place.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko (34th) and Harrison Gimbel (32nd) just missed out on the final four tables and earned themselves $11,420. Randal Flowers was eliminated in 22nd place after running into the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} of Michael Lehr. Aditya Agarwal bowed out in 16th place and would be the last player to not bag and tag chips for Day 3.

Ultimately it was a very close race between Brandon Ageloff (1,007,000) and Ray Foley (993,000) for the chip lead, start-of-the-day leader Jason Johnson claimed the third place with 779,000 in chips. Vinny Pahuja (572,000) is looking for a second final table at the 2014 WSOP after finishing 7th in Event #33, a $ 1,000 No Limit Hold'em, only a few days ago.

Other notables to make it through to the final day include Ryan Spittles (453,000) and Welshman Roberto Romanello (458,000) who seeks his first golden bracelet and the entry into the exclusive Triple Crown club of players that won an EPT, WPT and WSOP title.

Make sure to tune back into the exclusive PokerNews live reporting as of 1 p.m. on Monday for the third and final day of the tournament when we will play down to a winner. All players already have $21,575 guaranteed and the first place-finish is rewarded with a payday of stunning $478,102.

Aditya Agarwal Eliminated in 16th Place ($17,234)

Aditya Agarwal

About two minutes ago, Aditya Agarwal raised to 27,000 and then folded to a three-bet of Roberto Romanello after the Welshman made it 73,000 to go.

It would only take a few hands and then Agarwal was all in for what looked like 210,000 after the action had folded to him in the small blind. Robert Chorlian thought about it for a good two minutes and then made the call.

Agarwal: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Chorlian: {A-Spades}{7-Spades}

The {6-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop was good news for Agarwal, but he definitely didn't like the {A-Diamonds} turn. The {K-Hearts} river completed the board and the field has been reduced to 15 only.

Brian Haas Eliminated in 17th Place ($17,234)

Brian Haas - 17th Place
Brian Haas - 17th Place

With the flop reading {q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Brandon Ageloff bet out 32,000. Brian Haas raised all in and Ageloff called.

Ageloff: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Haas: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Haas was behind and at risk, and his fate was sealed when the last two cards fell {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}. His 17th-place finish is good for $17,234, and Ageloff has the largest stack in the room after collecting that pot.

Julien Fauteux slid his all chips in the middle and Vinny Pahuja snap-called, putting Fauteux at risk.

Pahuja: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Fauteux: {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The dealer laid out a board of {2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Fauteux was eliminated in 18th place.

Zachary Humphrey moved all in preflop from under the gun and action folded around to Jason Johnson in the big blind who, after getting a count, made the call putting Humphrey at risk.

Humphrey: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Johnson: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and humphrey was eliminated.

Michael Lehr - 20th Place
Michael Lehr - 20th Place

We barely caught Michael Lehr and Mark Wilds getting their stacks in preflop and turning up their hands.

Lehr: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Wilds: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Lehr was the player at risk and things looked grim on the flop of {7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}. He couldn't improve on the turn and river of {5-Clubs} and {7-Diamonds}, and his day ended as the 20th-place finisher for $13,953.

Salim Zakhem got moved from table 440 to 445 but he would not last long on there. He got the remainder of his 10 big blind stack in with {A-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Bryan Dillon called with {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The board ran out {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Dillon scored the second knockout in a row to boost his stack to average.

Randal Flowers moved all in for what looked like 130,000 and Michael Lehr made the call, all other players behind them folded.

Flowers: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}
Lehr: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

"I need spades," Flowers said before turning over his cards. That request was however denied by the dealer as the board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Victor Lemos opened the action with a raise from early position and Jason Johnson made the call out of the big blind to see the {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} flop. Johnson check-raised all in after Lemos made the continuation bet for 30,000 and Lemos called.

Lemos: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Johnson: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} turn saw Lemos drawing dead and the meaningless {Q-Hearts} on the river completed the board.

From late position, Peter Apicelli moved all in for 150,000 chips and got called one seat over by Joseph Iarussi.

Apicelli: {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Iarussi: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Apicelli had to hope for a king after the {2-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop but the board completed with the {7-Hearts} turn and the {A-Diamonds} river instead to send him to the rail in 24th place for a payday of $13,953.
