Jim Jakobsen - 8th Place

Hand #16: Jim Jakobsen raised to 80,000 from under the gun and everyone folded, giving him the blinds and antes.

Hand #17: Peter Gould raised to 65,000 from middle position and won the pot.

Hand #18: Robert Schmidt raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Aleksandr Gofman made the call. The flop was dealt {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Schmidt bet out 75,000 and Gofman called. The turn was the {j-Spades} and Schmidt fired again, this time for 120,000, and Gofman pushed all in to win the pot as Schmidt quickly let go of his hand.

Hand #19: Action folded all the way around and Gould got a walk. He showed {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Hand #20: Jakobsen raised to 75,000 from the cutoff and Gould pushed all in. Jakobsen made the call and we had a race.

Jakobsen: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Gould: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The flop was no good for Jakobsen, as it came down {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The turn {j-Diamonds} gave him a few more outs with the straight draw. But Gould faded all of the outs when the river was flipped over as the {j-Hearts} and Jakobsen was eliminated in eighth place for $38,356.
