Action During the Break

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Josh Arieh - Eliminated
Josh Arieh - Eliminated

Right before the break, Jason Mercier opened to 2,800 from under the gun, and three players called including Barry Hutter. Mercier continued for 5,200 on a flop of {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Hutter called, and the turn was the {q-Diamonds}.

Mercier fired out another 5,200, Hutter once again called, and the {3-Diamonds} fell on the river. Mercier bet 22,600, Hutter moved all in for an additional 54,000, and Mercier folded.

While that hand was wrapping up, and players were starting to exit for the break, Josh Arieh was all in and at risk with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, Alec Torelli tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and the aces held up.

Two Streets of Value for Radoja

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The action folded to Mark Radoja on the button, and the two-time WSOP bracelet winner raised to 3,600 on the button. John Juanda surrendered his small blind, and Phil Ivey called out of the big blind.

The dealer fanned {7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Ivey check-called a bet of 3,600, and the duo both checked on the turn ({j-Clubs}).

The river was the {9-Spades}, Ivey knuckled a third time, and Radoja fired 11,300. Ivey considered both the bet and his opponent for a minute or two before calling, then flicked his cards forward when Radoja showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for jacks and threes.

Decarolis Takes From Mizrachi

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened to 4,000 from early position, Al Decarolis called on the button and Michael Mizrachi called from the big blind.

All three checked the {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, landing the {8-Spades} turn. Action checked to Decarolis who bet 12,000. Only Mizrachi called to see the {6-Spades} river where he led out for 16,000.

Decarolis called, Mizrachi tapped the table, and Decarolis tabled {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a queen-high straight to win the pot.

"Show a Queen"

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

When we arrived at Table 367, Phil Hellmuth had what looked like a three-bet of 12,000 in front of him, and Alec Torelli put out a four-bet to 59,100.

"You know I'd never raise with tens," Hellmuth said, making a case against Torelli holding two jacks. "I think it's a split pot."

The 13-time bracelet winner folded {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} face up, and Torelli looked back at his cards.

"Show a queen," John Juanda urged him, grinning from ear to ear.

Torelli didn't oblige, rather he pushed his hand into the muck facedown and simply dragged the pot.

Scott Seiver Eliminated By Anthony Zinno

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Scott Seiver raised to 3,200 from the hijack and Anthony Zinno called from the big blind.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} and Zinno led out for 1,600. Seiver called, the {J-Hearts} fell on the turn, and both players checked. The {J-Spades} river completed the board and Zinno bet 4,000. Seiver raised all in for 18,600 and Zinno called after a few moments with {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} for trip jacks.

Seiver mucked, securing the pot for Zinno.

Big Double for Juanda

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger and John Juanda were heads up on a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Lichtenberger fired out 11,000 - roughly a pot-sized bet.

Juanda raised to 26,500, Lichtenberged moved all in for effectively 103,800, and Juanda quickly called.

Juanda: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Lichtenberger: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Juanda's ace outs were dead because Lichtenberger held two of them, but the {k-Spades} on the turn gave the Indonesian pro an unbeatable hand. A meaningless {2-Clubs} bricked off on the river, and Juanda raked in the massive, 200,000-chip pot.

Lichtenberger dropped down to around 60,000.

Hellmuth Makes a Mess, Doubles

Nível 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

John Juanda, Phil Hellmuth, and Christian Harder took a flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and Juanda led out for 8,100. Hellmuth raised to 23,000, leaving 32,700 behind, and Harder folded.

Juanda tanked for a bit before committing a large stack of pink T5,000 chips, putting Hellmuth all in for 55,700, and Hellmuth grabbed all of his chips with both hands and thrusted them into the pot.

One of his yellow T1,000 chips went flying off the table, landing at Alec Torelli's feet, and his stack was dangerously close to the rest of the pot. Phil Ivey settled the dispute, getting out of his chair to separate Hellmuth's all-in bet from the main pot.

"I trust Phil Ivey," said Hellmuth.

Hellmuth announced that he flopped a set of eights before actually showing the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Juanda was drawing very live with {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for straight and flush draws.

Unfortunately for Juanda, the turn ({5-Hearts}) and the river ({k-Spades}) were both bricks, and the 13-time bracelet winner doubled to around 130,000 chips. Juanda fell back down to 170,000.
