A player from early position opened to 1,250 and Bart Hanson made the call right behind. A player in late position three-bet all in for 8,750 and Andy Spears made the call from the small blind.
Both the original raiser and Hanson got out of the way and the race was on.

The board ran out and Spears has one of the healthier stacks in the room.
Some updated chip stacks, including Greg Mueller who just received his starting stack of 4,500 at the end of dinner break and who is now above average.
"There's no shame in giving up," Antonio Esfandiari was saying as we reached the table. He had raised from under the gun to 925 and was facing a three-bet from Todd Newhouse in the big blind to 1,900. "He can give up right? It's in the rules?" Esfandiari asked the dealer, jokingly. "It feels like a big hand."
Esfandiari four-bet to 2,925 and Newhouse took little time to five-bet all in for 4,575, which Esfandiari called.

Newhouse took the double up with the heart flush and Esfandiari went silent.
Jeff Sluzinski called the 3,000 turn bet of Gabriel Nassif on a board reading . The dealer put down the for the river and Nassif bet out 3,500 this time. Sluzinski took some time before calling, and then mucked when Nassif showed .
David Peters opened to 850 from late position and the player in the big blind made the call. The flop was the and Peters bet 825 after a check and his opponent called. The turn was the and this time Peters' opponent led for 1,200 and Peters made the call.
The river was the and both players checked. Peters turned over and it was good as his opponent tabled . Peters avoided the double-gutter and continues to steadily increase his stack.
Phil Ivey bought in to this event just before registration closed, but with a 15 big blind starting stack, he had to make some moves to try to catch up to the rest of the field. He busted within his first level in the tournament.
