Hand #42: Ahmed Amin Eliminated in 7th Place ($21,565)

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Ahmed Amin - 7th place
Ahmed Amin - 7th place

David Martirosyan opened to 70,000 on the button and Ahmed Amin thought for a moment before raising pot to put himself all in. Martirosyan snap-called, tabling {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Amin would not find enough help for his {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and he was out as Martirosyan found close to a double-up.

Hands #36-38: Ryan Schoonbaert Eliminated in 8th Place ($16,384)

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Ryan Schoonbaert - 8th place
Ryan Schoonbaert - 8th place

Hand #36: Dan Goldman raised to 40,000 from early position and won his second set of blinds in a row.

Hand #37: Gregory Kolo raised to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded all the way around the table, leaving Kolo to collect the blinds.

Hand #38: Ryan Schoonbaert opened with an all-in bet of 66,000 and Kazu Oshima called.

Oshima: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Schoonbaert: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop was no help for Schoonbaert, and neither was the {4-Spades} on the turn. Schoonbaert needed a queen or nine on the river to stay in this tournament, but it was the {J-Spades} and with that Schoonbaert became the eighth-place finisher and Oshima climbed to almost 1 million chips.

Hand #25: David Martirosyan received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #26: Action folded to Martirosyan in the small blind and he raised to 32,000. Ahmed Amin called in the big blind. The flop came down {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades} and both players checked.

Both players checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn. The river was the {A-Diamonds} and Martirosyan led for 16,000 and Amin looked him up.

Martirosyan turned over {Q-}{J-} and added more chips to his stack.

Hand #27: Martirosyan opened to 32,000 from the cutoff and won the blinds.

Hand #28: Kazu Oshima received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #29: Martirosyan raised to 32,000 from late position and Ahmed Amin potted for 120,000 from the next seat along, leaving 18,000 behind. Oshima folded his small blind, Dean Bui puffed his cheeks out as he tried to figure out the best move to make. He eventually settled on a fold.

Martirosyan, knowing his opponent was essentially all-in, folded.

Hand #30: Martirosyan opened another pot with a raise to 32,000 from middle position. Bui raised all-in for 112,000 from the small blind. Gregory Kolo folded from the big blind and Martirosyan called.

Martirosyan: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Bui: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

“Two tens on the flop,” said Bui.

He didn’t receive two but he did flop a set when the first three community cards ran out {Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The players asked for the {J-Clubs} to make things interesting, but the turn was the {5-Hearts}, which locked up the hand for Bui. The meaningless {Q-Hearts} landed on the river and Bui doubled up.

Hands #21-24: McCormick Doubles and Martirosyan Doubles Big

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
David Martirosyan

Hand #21: Tom McCormick opened to 56,000 from the button and Bui raised pot, putting McCormick all in for his last 9,000 and McCormick made the call. McCormick turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and was looking to fade an ace as Bui tabled {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and McCormick found a much-needed double up.

Hand #22: Kazu Oshima opened to 32,000 from the button and Gregory Kolo called from the big blind. The flop came down {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and both players checked. After a turn of the {9-Clubs} both players again checked.

The river was the {q-Spades} and both players checked. Kolo showed king-high and Oshima mucked

Hand #23: Oshima raised to 32,000 and took the blinds.

Hand #24: David Martirosyan raised to 32,000 from early position, Bui made the call from late position, and Ryan Schoonbaert three-bet from the big blind to 97,000. Martirosyan then raised pot, putting himself all in for 242,000.

Bui got out of the way and Schoonbaert thought for a moment before eventually making the call with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. He would need to see some love as Martirosyan had {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop was {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Hearts} and after the turn of the {10-Spades}, Schoonbaert was now searching for a jack as his only out. He didn’t find it, though, with the {8-Diamonds} on the river and Martirosyan doubles, leaving Schoonbaert rather short.
