Addamo Leads, Vogelsang Close Behind; Day 2 of Event #2: $100,000 8-Handed NLH Kicks Off Soon

Welcome to Day 2 finale of Event #2: $100,000 8-Handed NLH in the Triton Poker Special Edition Series at Merit Crystal Cove Resort and Casino in North Cyprus. Cards go in the air at 1 p.m. EEST for the finale of this prestigious high roller tournament.

The second of four tournaments in the series drew 51 entries so far, 27 of which will return with a bag for Day 2. That number is expected to grow with late registration open until the end of the first level of the day.

Australia’s Michael Addamo is the chip leader after running his stack up to over 1 million on Day 1. Following behind is Tom Vogelsang of the Netherlands, the only other player to reach the 1 million mark on the day. Teun Mulder, Danny Tang, and Chris Brewer round out the top five chip counts.

Play will open in Level 10 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 ante. Registration will close at the end of the first level of play. There will be a 10-minute break every two levels, and a dinner break at the end of Level 17, or when the tournament reaches a final table. Blinds will increase every 45 minutes.

There is no redraw for Day 2. Instead, the players will redraw once the tournament reaches three tables. There will be another redraw at two tables and then once again when the tournament has reached a final table.

The action will be livestreamed via Triton Poker on their YouTube and Twitch channels all day long with a 30-minute security delay.

Just a few hands into Day 2, Seth Davies got it all in against Paul Phua.

With about 100,000 in the pot and a full board of {6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Phua checked and Davies shoved 151,000 into the middle. Phua used a time extension before he tossed out chips to call. Davies turned over {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Phua mucked the losing hand.

Addamo and Schindler Lock Horns

Jake Schindler raised to 8,000 from middle position and Michael Addamo came along from the big blind. The flop was {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Addamo checked the flop and Schindler bet 12,000. Addamo check-raised to 43,000 and Schindler called quickly.

The turn was {10-Clubs} and Addamo led out for 48,000. Schindler called and the river was {k-Diamonds}.

Addamo used two time extensions before he checked to Schindler, who bet 165,000. The Aussie got away from it without much hesitation and Schindler took the pot.

Buldygin Sprints to Rebuy Window

Elton Tsang raised to 20,000 from early position and Viacheslav Buldygin shoved for over 200,000. Tsang quickly called and action was heads up with Buldygin at risk.

Elsewhere in the room, Rok Gostisa and Timothy Adams have jumped back into the tournament.
