Wai Leong Chan and Richard Yong Enter, Yan Pan Chan Re-Enters

Nível 4 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

There have been two new arrivals, with Main Event finalist Wai Leong Chan coming into the action along with Triton founder Richard Yong and Hong Kong's Yan Pan Chan has re-entered to bring the total number of entries up to 33, with 19 players now in action over four tables.

Chip leader Devan Tang and the second biggest stack Jason Koon have been moved to the newly opened fourth table along with Marius Torbergsen and the newly entered Wai Leong Chan and should the top two stacks clash in a hand (something highly likely with the fast pace of this game) then someone is going to be sitting on a mountain of chips.

An interesting three-way hand played out not long after the table opened and we picked up the action on a flop of {7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts} just as Marius Torbergsen moved all-in from the button. Chan called all-in and Devan Tang, who had the pair easily covered, made the call and the cards were turned over.

Wai Leong Chan: {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Devan Tang: {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Marius Torbergsen: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Torbergsen had flopped a set, Chan two pair and Tang the straight and the {j-Hearts} turn saw Torbergsen improve to a boat. Things were looking bad for Chan, until the {j-Diamonds} river saw him improve to a boat as well, meaning Tang's chips were divvied up between the pair, though the Hong Kong player still has heaps.

Cates, Chan, Yong and Tsang In, Smirnov Out

Nível 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

The number of entries has climbed to 30, but the number of players left in the field has shrunk to 16. New arrivals include Elton Tsang, Dan Cates, Wai Kin Yong (for the second time), and Hau Lim Chan, while a recent elimination is Russia's Mikhail Smirnov.

Cates clashed with Romain Arnaud to dust of the first 100,000 bullet of his initial entry, with the pair getting all the chips in pre-flop.

Dan Cates: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Romain Arnaud: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Cates was narrowly ahead until the {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop with the {7-Spades} turn locking up the hand for the Frenchman. The {q-Spades} river was merely a formality and Cates called for chips while Arnaud climbed to 500,000. Phil Ivey is climbing up the counts and is sitting on a much-increased stack of 460,000.

Patgorski Rides Rollercoaster, Tang Takes Lead, Arnaud Busts Zhou and Takes from Ivey

Nível 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Gabe Patgorski
Gabe Patgorski

An absolutely huge hand went down between Gabe Patgorski and Devan Tang that saw the former's newly won chips find their way over to Tang's stack. We arrived in the aftermath but Patgorski was kind enough to give us all the gory details.

With 16,000 in the pot and the flop spread {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} all the chips went in and the cards were turned over. Patgorski had flopped the full house and Tang was drawing live with {q-Spades}{j-Spades} for the straight flush draw - with flushes beating a boat in this crazy game - and while the {6-Clubs} turn was not the spade the Hong Kong player needed the {a-Spades} was.

Tang climbed to over 2.2 million while Patgorski reloaded and fired for 100,000 the very next hand,but got no customers.

While this was going on there was another big pot playing out over on Phil Ivey's table with all the chips going in, in a three-way pot between Ivey, Romain Arnaud and Yueqine Zhou.

Phil Ivey: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Romain Arnaud: {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Yueqine Zhou: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to see Zhou bust, Ivey drop to 145,000 and Arnaud climbed to 350,000.

Koon Leading, Patgorski Climbing Again

Nível 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante

Stacks are rising and falling at a rapid pace, we came running when we heard shouting from the freshly moved Gabe Patgorski's table with the US pro winning a four-way all-in with a straight flush to climb back up to 500,000.

"Hey Jase, I'm catching back up!" shouted Patgorski gleefully as he counted up his new chips. Koon looks to be the early frontrunner with a stack of 1.3 million, so Patgorski still has some catching up to do.

Patgorski, Torbergsen and Ivey Double

Nível 3 : 0/0, 2,000 ante
Phil Ivey

There are now 23 entries in the HKD $1-million Short Deck Ante Only Event, with the latest new arrival China's Fu Lin Sun, plus a re-entry, though the action is moving at such a rapid pace we are unsure of who this maybe.

Gabe Patgorski dusted off his last 20,000 and called for his third bullet of his first buy-in, and promptly doubled this up courtesy of Alan Sass. It was Patgorski the man driving the action, moving all in from the cutoff and being looked up by Sass on the button.

Gabe Patgorski: {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Alan Sass: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} flop brought something for everyone, with Patgorski flopping the straight and Sass the nut flush draw. The {k-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river saw Sass improve to trips, but this was still not enough to best Patgorski's straight and he doubled while Sass took the hit good-naturedly.

"You gotta love short deck," exclaimed Patgorski as he raked in the pot.

Over on table three there were two back-to-back all-ins, though we only arrived during the aftermath of the first as stacks were in the process of being counted down. It was Marius Torbergsen who had earned a double holding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} with the community cards spread {10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. While we do not know when all the chips went in, we do know that Torbergsen's opponent, Yueqine Zhou, had ace-jack. Zhou dropped to 306,000 and Torbergsen climbed to 230,000.

Phil Ivey was all-in from under-the-gun the next hand for 14,000 with Furkat Rakhimov making the call from the big blind.

Phil Ivey: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Furkat Rakhimov: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs} to see Ivey double to 35,000 and Rakhimov drop some chips, but not all that many and the Russian still has 60,000.

Carnage Before First Break

Jason Koon

The number of entries has grown to 21, 15 of whom still remain in contention and these 15 are now on their first 15-minute break of the day.

However, just before they headed off we caught a huge pot that played out between Jason Koon and Gabe Patgorski the saw the former decimate the latter's stack.

We picked up the action on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades} with 86,000 already in the pot just as Koon (big blind) led out for 65,000. Patgorski shoved from the button and Koon called immediately.

Jason Koon: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Gabe Patgorski: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Unfortunately for Patgorski the {q-Spades} turn gave Koon the nut straight, with the {7-Clubs} river completing the hand. When stacks were counted down Patgorski discovered he still had chips, just not that many and dropped to 20,000 while Koon climbed to 750,000.

Ivey and Koon In, Zhou Up

Nível 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Fresh from their escapades in yesterday's Million Euro Cash Game both Jason Koon and Phil Ivey have entered to bring the total number of entries up to 20.

Ivey had evidently been busy as was on his second bullet of his first buy-in when we walked past his table, and was down to 83,000 of that. We loitered by his table hoping to catch Ivey in action and while he folded the first hand we watched, he played the second.

Devan Tang won the first hand by instigating things with a limp from the small blind, before Furkay Rakhimov juiced the action up to 11,000 in the big blind. Romain Arnaud called from the hi-jack and Mikhail Smirnov called the button and Tang also called.

The {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop saw checks from all four players. The {8-Clubs} turn saw Tang lead for 30,000 and that was enough to take it down.

Rakhimov folded the next hand from the small blind and Ivey entered the next pot with a limp. China's Yueqine Zhou called, as did Romain Arnaud before Mikhail Smirnov raised to 12,000 from the button.

Ivey and Arnaud folded but Zhou made the call to take the action heads-up to a flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts} with Zhou check-calling a Smirnov c-bet. The {a-Hearts} turn saw the Chinese player check again and Smirnov bet out 30,000 but folded immediately when Zhou check-raised all-in.
