Aido and Cates Win Pots

Nível 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 1

Wai Kin Yong opened to 85,000 from the cutoff and Sergio Aido called on the button. Yong continued for 85,000 on the {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and Aido called before the second barrel was worth 165,000, which Aido called. The {7-Hearts} appeared on the river and Yong slowed down, checked his option. Aido made it 450,000 to go and that won the pot uncontested.

Hand 2

Aido raised to 90,000 from the cutoff and Dan Cates called in the big blind. On the {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Cates check-called a continuation bet worth 90,000 before the duo checked the {A-Diamonds} on the turn. After the {10-Spades} river, Cates led for 130,000 and Aido quickly folded.

Aido Takes it on the Flop

Nível 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong opened to 95,000 from the small blind and Sergio Aido called in the big blind. On the {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Aido bet 110,000 and Yong folded.

The defending champion of this very event didn't slow down though, as Yong made it 85,000 to go on the button the next hand. Bryn Kenney, who started the day as shortest stack, was in the big blind and elected to fold. He dropped to around 12 big blinds as a result after the blinds had gone up.

Tang Takes from Aldemir

Nível 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Devan Tang raised to 95,000 from the button and Koray Aldemir called in the big blind. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the {10-Hearts} turn, Aldemir bet 125,000 and Tang called before the {10-Diamonds} river paired the board and provided a four-card flush.

Aldemir checked and Tang checked behind to see the German turn over {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for trips tens. Tang first flipped over the {6-Diamonds} followed by the {K-Spades}, to claim the pot with a flush.

Yong Takes from Cates with Big Bet Poker

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong raised to 60,000 and Sergio Aido called on the button. The flop fell {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Yong continued for 60,000, but folded to a raise of 200,000 by Aido.

Koray Aldemir then took the blinds and antes with a raise to 65,000 before a big hand took more than 14 minutes.

Yong opened to 65,000 from under the gun and Dan Cates defended the big blind, quickly checked the {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. Yong continued for 70,000 and Cates called.

Both saw the {2-Clubs} appear on the turn and Cates quickly checked again. Yong made it 120,000 to go and Cates check-raised to 250,000 after some consideration, which Yong called.

The {J-Hearts} river saw both players stare at the board for a good two minutes before Cates elected to check. Yong fired 420,000, almost half the stack Cates had left, and his opponent took another three minutes. After silently talking through the hand, Cates folded and said after the hand "you either have some bullshit or ten nine."

Only Six Players Remain for the Final Showdown in Manila

Defending champion Wai Kin Yong is third in chips
Defending champion Wai Kin Yong is third in chips

The final day of the exclusive 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series Manila has come and just six players out of a 39-entry strong field, including 10 re-entries, remain to battle for the title and a massive payday in the HK$ 1,000,000 Main Event (approx. $128,800) here at the Solaire Resort and Casino in the capital of the Philippines.

Many big names of the international high-stakes poker circuit made the trip to Manila, and superstars such as Daniel Colman, Phil Ivey and Erik Seidel missed out on the money last night. 2016 Big One For One Drop Extravaganza champion Elton Tsang was denied a second high-roller title after he was eliminated on the money bubble and that set up the final six for today's showdown.

Leading the finalists is Sergio Aido, who claimed 2,490,000, just two big blinds ahead of Germany's Koray Aldemir (2,420,000). The other finalists include defending Triton Super High Roller Manila Main Event champion Wai Kin Yong (1,705,000), 2016 Triton Suncity Cup winner Dan Cates (1,475,000), Devan Tang (1,045,000) and Bryn Kenney (615,000).

Within less than one year, Aido has reached his fourth final table and cash during the high-stakes festival and also won the HK$100,000 Single Day High Roller of the Macau Poker Cup just one week ago for a payday of HK$2,074,000 (~USD $268,000). Aldemir finished third in the 2016 $ 111,111 No Limit Hold'em High Roller for One Drop during the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas last summer, while Yong may even top the payday of HK$ 16,135,550 from last November after emerging victorious to take down the first ever HK$ 500,000 Triton Super High Roller Series Main Event.

Cates claimed the title of the Suncity Cup during the same festival and Kenney needs little introduction as well, having amassed more than $13.7 million in tournament cashes. Tang's biggest score comes off a third-place finish in the inaugural $200,000 Triton Super High Roller Series as part of the World Poker Tour National Philippines in January 2016, earning him a payday of $1,405,500.

The six finalists are playing for their share of the massive HK$ 37,073,400 (approximately $4,776,484) prize pool, and the payouts are as follows:

Kenney will be the short stack with just over 20 big blinds when action resumes in two hours from now at 1 p.m. local time with 26:33 minutes left in level 16 at blinds of 15,000-30,000 and a running ante of 5,000. Representatives of Triton Poker, the Solaire Resort and Casino as well as Hublot, the official timekeeper of the 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series Manila, will present the trophies to the 6-Max and Main Event champion once the last river card has been dealt, and the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to provide all action until then.
