Largest Prize in Triton SHR History Up for Grabs Today at HK $1,000,000 Macau Main Event

The lion’s share of the largest prize pool in Triton Super High Roller Series history will be awarded this afternoon as Day 3 of the HK $1,000,000 Macau Main Event final table plays down to a champion. Just eight hopefuls remain chasing a top prize of HK $22,410,400 (US $2,872,299).

Cards will hit the felt at 1 PM inside the Galaxy Macau Hotel with Spain’s Adrian Mateos at the helm. An end of day elimination of James Chen propelled Mateos to the top of the leaderboard on Day 2, edging fellow young poker prodigy Fedor Holz for the chip lead. Mateos will stack up 4,785,000 when he opens his bag this afternoon with Holz returning with 4,325,000.

The rest of the final table shapes up with Dietrich Fast (3,370,000), Kahle Burns (2,625,000), Timothy Adams (2,185,000), Stephen Chidwick (1,395,000), Isaac Haxton (1,075,000), and Poker Hall of Fame member John Juanda (990,000).

Between the eight finalists, they share over US $90,000,000 in career live-recorded tournament earnings. Half of that comes from just Holz and Juanda alone with more than a quarter owned by Holz.

There are some interesting side notes for the field in terms of where they finish today. A win for any finalist but Holz will be the best tournament cash of their career. Juanda can do it with even a runner-up finish while Mateos and Fast will score with top three spots. Adams and Chidwick need fourth or better while Burns can do it with a sixth-place cash. In fact, Burns will double his career live-recorded tournament earnings with a second place finish or better.

Fedor Holz opened from the cutoff and Stephen Chidwick called in the big blind. The flop fanned out {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Chidwick led out with a bet that Holz flatted.

The {q-Hearts} completed the board and Chidwick moved all-in for 1,635,000 sending Holz into the tank. About four and a half minutes went by before John Juanda called the clock. Just after Holz was given a 30-second warning, he made the call.
