Vieira Wins a Small One

Nível 29 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

Action folded around to Connor "blanconegro" Drinan on the button and he opened to 320,000. Joao "Naza114" Vieira called to defend his big blind and the flop came {9-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Vieira checked to Drinan, who made a continuation-bet of 467,500. Vieira called. Action then checked through both the turn {q-Spades} and river {5-Clubs} to take the hand to showdown.

Vieira tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a set of jacks and took down the pot, seeing an increase to his stack as the announcement for the blinds going up appeared across the table.

Two full days have been played to their conclusion in the PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP)-75-H: $10,300 PLO 6-Max Main Event and just seven players remain with their sights set upon the first of three Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event titles in the 2020 version of PokerStars’ iconic SCOOP series that is set to begin at 1:05 p.m. ET/7:05 p.m. CET.

A total of 159 entries from 98 players were logged in the tournament, which featured a registration period that was open until the beginning of Day 2. Up to three entries were allowed, and Connor “blanconegro” Drinan was one of those to need all three bullets before beginning to make a run. Drinan enters the final table of seven with the chip lead, taking a stack of 12.09 million into the day after surging to the top of the leader board during the last level of play on Day 2.

Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen (8.59 million) and Joao “Naza114” Vieira (6.66 million) follow Drinan in the counts. Vieira is looking for his second SCOOP title of the series after taking down Event #33-M, a $1,050 NLHE Progressive Knockout for $186.342 nearly two weeks ago. This will be his second appearance at a SCOOP-H final table in the past week after taking second place in Event #62-H ($5,200 NLHE PKO High Roller) for $102,900 last Friday.

A trio of players from the United Kingdom in ”Kukenmuser”, Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane, and Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi enter the final table fourth-through-sixth in chips, and Day 1 Chip Leader Linus “LLinusLLove” Loeliger rounds out the Day 3 roster, coming into the day with 1.17 million.

Play will resume at 1:05 p.m. ET/7:05 p.m. CET in Level 29 with blinds of 50,000/100,000. All seven remaining players are guaranteed at least $66,762, and levels will remain 30 minutes in length for the remainder of the tournament when the top prize of $332,264 has been claimed.

Who will be the first high-stakes PLO Main Event champion of the series? Keep it at PokerNews for updates every step of the way as that question is answered.
