Simon "ministerborg" Ravnsbaek survived a heads-up scare to secure victory in the SCOOP-01-H for $225,009. The Danish player defeated "beagel 3" heads-up to secure the six-figure pay day after outlasting an 11,933-player field.

Coming into the day fourth in chips, Ravnsbaek was content to sit behind start-of-day chip leader "chininhaltig" before surging to the front in time to take the overall chip lead into the final table.

The Danish player didn't have it all his own way, falling to the bottom of the counts four-handed and enduring a tumultuous period of three-handed play with Luke "Bit2Easy" Reeves and eventual runner-up "beagel 3" before securing victory.

Final Table Recap

Joao "IneedMassari" Simao, Shawn "buck21" Buchanan, Ezequiel "eze8888" Waigel, Damian "pampa27" Salas and Jakub "Olorionek" Michalak all made it through to the final day of the SCOOP-01-H event but failed to make it to the final table which was lead by Simon "ministerborg" Ravnsbaek.

The pack behind him battled to keep up, with first Luke "Bit2Easy" Reeves eliminating "Riverbanged" and then start-of-day chip leader "chininhaltig" eliminating "anth0nypappa".

Michael "merla888" Gathy (pictured) was yet another notable in the field, and looked for a way back into the tournament when he got nines in against the eights of Reeves. However, an eight on the flop gave Reeves a set and eliminated Gathy.

Sensing movement behind him, chip leader Ravnsbaek went to work, sending "VdZzZ" to the rail before the chip counts became increasingly erratic.

Reeves took a spell on top, before James "deyrzuited" Noonan sent "chininhaltig" to the rail to strengthen his position. However, in a sign of just how unpredictable the tournament was becoming, Noonan was soon sent packing by Ravnsbaek who had reasserted himself at the top of the counts.

Three-handed play lasted an hour, with each player occupying each position in the chip counts for lengthy spells. Eventually it was Reeves who was eliminated, calling with second pair against Ravnsbaek only for his opponent to hold an overpair.

Heads-up play began with the two remaining players discussing a deal, and after negotiations fell through, there was a 30-minute pause in the PokerStars client before play resumed.

More drama was yet to come, with "beagel 3" mounting a spirited comeback heads-up, taking the chip lead despite starting heads-up play as a 4:1 underdog. However, just when he was building up momentum, a slip up allowed Ravnsbaek back in and he made no mistake in clinching victory. He takes home $225,009 in prize money with "beagel 3" having to settle for $166,672.
