2020 WCOOP Low $55 NLHE Main Event Final Table

The final table has been reached after three days of play in the 2020 WCOOP Event-72-L: $55 NLHE Main Event at PokerStars with the massive field of 38,660 entrants whittled down to just nine hopefuls.

All remaining players are each guaranteed at least a ninth-place payout of $11,675 with a whopping $186,841 reserved for tomorrow's winner.

The final table will be an international affair with all nine players waving different country flags.

Poland's "klimono" will kick off the final table action in the captain's seat after bagging more than 266 million in chips. Closest on this player's tail are Brazil's Paulo ''pvss'' Silva (180 million), Mexico's "vrodrguez1" (137 million), Belgium's "Tangawi26" (130 million), and Canada's "Mr.Skinny.00" (82 million).

Rounding out the final table are Indonesia's Akira "Clutch Hero" Ohyama (51 million), Day 2 chip leader from Hungary "benton24" (45 million), United Kingdom's "ID IMPOSS" (44 million), and Denmark's "Jemisis" (31 million).

Day 3 Action

Day 3 took less than five hours to play out. The day began with 158 survivors looking to increase their $1,017 payout and hoping to make it to another day. Eliminations took place at a fast and furious pace.

Leonid "LeBroHbka" Logunov, Tauan "kylix42" Naves, Alexandru "JustPray" Marcu, Andrey "drupa-lucker" Chernokoz, Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov, Alessandro "HakiD93" Pichierri, Daniel "Razer2311" Rezaei, and Felipe "lipe piv" Boianovsky all making it to the penultimate day but missed out on advancing to the final table.

It looked like Day 3 would end with "Tangawi26" hitting the rail but this player doubled twice to build up to a middle of the pack final table stack. The second double came with cowboys against the big slick held by Belgium's "nickplay412" leaving this player short on chips.

"nickplay412" then got his short stack in good with snowmen but got unlucky against the ace-five suited held by "ID IMPOSS" to exit the tournament in 10th place for $8,256.

Final Table Schedule and Payouts

The final table will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 1:05 p.m. EDT / 7:05 p.m. CEST and play down until one player enters their name into the WCOOP history books.

The action will resume on Level 59 with blinds at 1,250,000/2,500,000 with an ante of 325,000, and increase every 20 minutes until a winner is crowned.

The final table should be an interesting one with the action beginning with an average stack of nearly 43 big blinds.

The payouts move up fast from the $11,675 the final nine players are guaranteed with the winner going home with a huge sum of $186,841. Final table deals will be allowed provided that at least $12,500 is left on the table for the eventual winner.

“The tournament was very intense.”

So said Vitor “Vitorbrasil” Moreira when we asked him about Event #48-M of the 2020 World Championship of Online Poker.

It was a $530 buy-in no-limit hold’em event played eight-handed in the progressive knockout format. It attracted 3,856 entries, building a huge prize pool of $1.928 million. And some of online poker’s toughest and most consistent performers were there at the end.

“When playing a buy-in of this value, it’s always very challenging,” says Moreira.

The first day went well for the Brazilian. “I was able to maintain a good stack from the beginning,” says Moreira. “I eliminated several players and was able to move forward safely.”
