Panta Takes From Araujo

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

With about 60,000 chips already in the pot on a flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Juan Guillenea checked from the big blind and Francisco Araujo, who was under the gun, bet 22,000. Alfredo Panta called from the button and Guillenea folded.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Araujo checked. Panta checked behind.

The {9-Clubs} fell on the river and Araujo checked. Panta bet 38,000, Araujo called, and Panta showed {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} for aces with a jack. Araujo mucked and Panta took the pot to put his stack over the 500,000-chip mark.

Barua Chips Up Through Viola

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Andres Viola opened with a raise to 17,000 from middle position and he was called by Hector Barua, as well as Roberto Piazza from the small blind and Gustavo Prato from the big blind.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and both blinds checked to Viola who bet 27,000. Only Barua called.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} which both players checked, leading to the {10-Spades} on the river. Viola fired again, betting 58,000. Barua thought for about a minute before calling. Viola showed {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for missed flush draw, but Barua had him beat with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a missed flush draw of his own, but with a pair of eights. That allowed him to take down the pot and move to almost 600,000 chips.

Belluscio Assumes the Chip Lead In a Massive Pot

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Julio Belluscio
Julio Belluscio

Catching the action on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} Julio Belluscio checked over to Renan Toniolo who put out a bet of 38,000. Belluscio then decided to check-raise, making it 80,000 to go. Toniolo thought it over then called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Belluscio fired again, betting 73,000. Toniolo called once more.

The {3-Diamonds} on the river completed a flush draw. Belluscio slowed down and checked. Toniolo thought for a long time and then checked behind. Belluscio showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for two pair and Toniolo mucked his hand. That allowed Belluscio to collect the almost 400,000 chip pot and move into the chip lead.

Mathias Duarte
Mathias Duarte

Roberly Felicio opened from the cutoff with a raise to 18,000 and Mathias Duarte three-bet shoved from the button for 89,000. Felicio called to put Duarte at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Duarte: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Felicio: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Duarte had the preflop advantage with the better ace, but Felicio caught up when the flop fell {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. The {2-Diamonds} turn and {A-Clubs} river failed to sufficiently improve Duarte and Felicio took the pot to end Duarte's run in this event.

Jose Moure

Action folded around where Jose Moure moved all in from the cutoff for his last 32,000 chips. Hector Barua called on the button and everyone else folded.

Moure was holding {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} while Barua was holding {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. The board rolled out {6-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} which was clean for Barua, eliminating Moure from the tournament.

Hugo Marcelo Eliminated in 22nd Place ($3,720)

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Hugo Marcelo
Hugo Marcelo

Hugo Marcelo was in the small blind and heads-up against Renan Toniolo on a flop of {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}. There were already about 20,000 chips in the pot and Marcelo checked to Toniolo who bet 10,000. Marcelo check-raised to 30,000 and the rest of the chips quickly went in the middle in a flurry of activity.

Marcelo: {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Toniolo: {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Marcelo had flopped middle pair and an open-ended straight draw but was up against the Toniolo's flopped nut straight. The {8-Spades} turn and {K-Diamonds} river were no help to Marcelo and Toniolo took the pot to end Marcelo's run in this event.

Martinez Doubles Through Piazza

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Edinson Martinez shoved from early position for his last 68,000 and Roberto Piazza called from the big blind to put him at risk.

Martinez: {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Piazza: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Piazza had the preflop advantage and Martinez needed help from the deck in order to survive. The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, which kept Piazza ahead but gave Martinez some additional outs in the form of an open-ended straight draw. The {4-Clubs} turn changed nothing, but the {K-Spades} on the river gave Martinez a pair of kings, so he took the pot to double up.
