The final day of the PokerStars Festival Uruguay is just about to kick off and only eight remain of the starting field that brought in 261 players. Leading the way by a wide margin is Julio Belluscio. Belluscio is looking for his biggest live cash ever which he can earn by winning this event outright, although he has posted results from both the EPT and the WSOP and has nearly $300,000 in recorded live tournament earnings.
Yesterday saw the field cut down from 24 players down to the final table. Once the unnofficial final table was reach, play continued until one more player dropped. It took nearly four hours before a short stacked Juan Guillenea's ace-king finally fell in a coinflip to Ernesto Panno's pocket eights. That brought the field down to eight where play ended for the day in level 24.
Currently all the players are guaranteed at least $9,560, but they are all looking to lock up the first place prize of $76,155 and of course the PokerStars Festival Main Event trophy as well.

Alejandro Garcia was under the gun and he moved all in for 586,000 total. Next to act was Julio Belluscio. He sighed before calling the shove. Everyone else folded so the two headed to a showdown.
Belluscio:
Garcia:
Garcia was way behind and he needed to catch a six or some kind of straight to stay alive. The flop came down bringing no extra help. The turn was the which was also a blank. The river was the which completed the board giving Belluscio the best hand with two pair. Belluscio moved over 3 million chips while Garcia was eliminated from the tournament in 7th place, collecting $13,020 for his efforts.
Juan Perez moved all in from early position for what looked like 180,000 and Julio Belluscio called from the small blind to put Perez at risk.
Perez:
Belluscio:
Perez had the preflop advantage with his ace and Belluscio needed to improve in order to win the pot. The flop paired Perez's nine and kept him in the lead. The on the turn changed nothing, but the fell on the river to pair Belluscio's king, so he took the pot to end Perez's deep run in this event.
Osvaldo Naves shoved all in from under the gun for right around 540,000. Action folded to the big blind. Naves, thinking he had won the pot went to pitch in his cards, but Belluscio was in the big blind told him to wait then called.
Belluscio:
Naves:
The board rolled out and that made Belluscio's ace-king best and Naves was eliminated from the tournament in 5th place collecting $23,440 for his efforts.
Ernesto Panno open-shoved from the small blind for a little over 500,000. Julio Belluscio was in the big blind and he snapped off the shove.
Panno:
Belluscio:
The board ran out and Belluscio made a pair of aces on the turn which left Panno drawing dead and eliminated from the tournament in 4th place, collecting $29,880 for his run here in the Main Event.
Julio Belluscio opened with a raise to 128,000 from the button and he was called by Hector Barua in the big blind. The flop came down and Barua shoved all in for roughly 222,000. Belluscio snap called.
Belluscio:
Barua:
The board completed with the on the turn, giving Barua flush and straight draws, but the hit the river and that was it for Barua who finished the tournament in 3rd place, collecting $37,020 for his run here in the PokerStars Festival Uruguay Main Event which comes just after his chop in the PokerStars Cup for over $5,000.
Julio Belluscio limped in on the button and Julio Arocena checked his option.
The flop came down and Arocena checked to Belluscio who bet 75,000. Arocena moved all in and Belluscio thought about it for about 20 seconds before calling.
Belluscio:
Arocena:
Arocena was behind in a big way but only until the hit the turn, putting him as the favorite. The river was the which was a brick and that allowed Arocena to double yet again here in this heads-up match.
The two players have agreed to the terms of an ICM chop where Julio Belluscio with the big stack will receive $66,748 while Julio Arocena will receive $60,027 with the shorter stack. The players will continue heads-up play now, but only for the trophy.
Julio Belluscio limped in on the button. Julio Arocena then shoved all in from the big blind for roughly 2,000,000 chips. Belluscio thought for a bit, made a face, then called.
Belluscio:
Arocena:
The board ran out which was safe for Belluscio the whole way through. His ace-high held up and that earned him the title of tournament champion.
After the deal, Arocena will receive $60,027 along with the designation of second place while Belluscio will take home $66,748 for first place as well as the title of PokerStars Festival Main Event Champion along with the trophy.
