Peters Takes from Dvoress

Nível 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In a hand that started rather innocent with a raise to 45,000 by David Peters and a call by Daniel Dvoress out of the big blind, a big pot would eventually emerge. On the {Q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, Dvoress check-called a bet worth 45,000 before checking again the {6-Spades} turn.

Peters fired a second barrel worth 130,000 and Dvoress called, then quickly checked the {7-Clubs} on the river. Now Peters made it 220,000 to go and the shot clock ran down for Dvoress. With a few seconds left, he tossed in a single chip and Peters turned over {4-Spades}{3-Spades} for a flush to boost his stack well above one million.

Smith Loses Flip in Brutal Fashion to Bust

Nível 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Smith loses a big race
Dan Smith loses a big race

Daniel Dvoress juiced it up to 40,000 from the hi-jack, only to see Dan Smith come over the top from the cutoff with a raise to 122,000 in total. Action folded around to Quan Zhou in the big blind who looked briefly interested but eventually decided against it and folded bringing the action back over to Dvoress, who wanted to know how much Smith was playing.

The two are fairly evenly stacked, though it looks like Dvoress had around maybe 50,000 more. That was enough leverage for Dvoress who moved all-in and Smith snap called.

Dan Smith: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The race looked to be a one-sided one when the flop fell {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} but the poker gods had other ideas, however. The {10-Hearts} turn gave Dvoress a faint glimmer of hope which turned into a blinding ray of light when the {j-Clubs} landed on the river to give him broadway.

Smith tapped the table as the stacks were counted down, but Dvoress had him covered and that was the end for the 2012 GPI Player of the Year and Smith departed in 13th place.

Badziakouski Bests Quoss Twice

Nível 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Fabian Quoss was the initial raiser from under the gun and Mikita Badziakouski defended the big blind. The duo checked the {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and the {3-Hearts} turn. On the {Q-Spades} river, Badziakouski bet 50,000 and Quoss folded.

One hand later, Badziakouski limped in from the small blind and Quoss raised it up for another 50,000 on top, which Badziakouski called. Again there was no betting action on the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {9-Spades} turn. Badziakouski then also checked the {4-Diamonds} river and Quoss checked behind. Badziakouski flashed the {K-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights, and that was good enough to win the second hand in a row.

Smith vs Zhou and Peters

Nível 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 1

In one of the last hands of the previous level, Quan Zhou raised to 37,000 from the hijack and Dan Smith defended the big blind. On the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Smith checked and Zhou continued for 35,000. Smith check-raised to 105,000 and that got the job done.

Hand 2

Minutes into the new level, Smith made it 45,000 to go from the button and David Peters three-bet to 145,000. Smith glanced over at the stack of his opponent but let go without any further resistance.

Kitai Busts Moraes

Rafael Moraes leaves in 14th place
Rafael Moraes leaves in 14th place

Davidi Kitai is in the midst of staging the mother of all comebacks and seems untouchable at the moment, a fact the Rafael Moraes has just discovered to his cost.

Pre-flop the action folded around to Kitai on the button and he moved all-in for 213,000. This bet has small blind Moraes covered and sends the Brazilian deep into the think tank.

With just seconds to spare on the shot clock Moraes decides to call it off and the cards go on their backs.

Davidi Kitai: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Rafael Moraes: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came down an extremely one-sided {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to cheers from Kitai’s watching rail, leaving Moraes drawing to the deck’s two remaining sixes. Unfortunately for Moraes the {9-Diamonds} turn and {5-Diamonds} river were of no help whatsoever and he departed in 14th place.

Quoss Finds Kings to Double

Nível 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

After a raise to 35,000 by Fabian Quoss on the button, Jack Salter moved all in and Artem Metalidi folded out of the big blind. Quoss quickly called for his last 311,000.

Fabian Quoss: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Jack Salter: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

On the {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, Salter was asking for two clubs, then said "oh damn, I need an ace" once the {7-Hearts} had appeared on the turn. It was instead the {6-Diamonds} that hit on the river and Quoss took a decent chunk of Salter's stack to double.

Peters Wins a Little

Nível 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

and Quan Zhou chose to check his option in the big blind.

Peters checked the {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop over to Zhou, who took a stab for 18,000. Peters mulled it over but eventually threw in the call and it was off to the {8-Hearts} turn, which brought checks from both players.

The {6-Hearts} saw Peters run the clock down almost into the red before deciding the right amount to lead for was 53,000 and Zhou folded instantly.

Kitai Doubles Through Dvoress

Nível 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Davidi Kitai shoved the button for his last 140,000 and Daniel Dvoress looked him up from the big blind.

Kitai had the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Dvoress flipped over {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. Queen-six had been good to the Belgian just a few minutes ago, and would be again on a board of {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Dvoress soon after three-bet an open raise of Quan Zhou from 35,000 to 115,000, but got out of the way as soon as Zhou shoved for 303,000 in total.
