Allez La!

Nível 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Jack Salter raised to 220,000 and claimed the blinds and antes. Then, Salter limped in from the small blind and Quan Zhou raised to 275,000. Salter folded and Zhou flashed the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

One hand later, Salter raised to 220,000 on the button and the action folded to Davidi Kitai in the big blind. He asked short stack Nick Petrangelo for the stack, then moved all in. Salter got a count on the Belgian, who was at risk for 1,190,000, but Salter let go. The French rail applauded with a "allez la!" for Kitai.

Kitai Doubles Through Zhou

Nível 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

It folded around to Quan Zhou in the small blind and he quickly moved all-in and Davidi Kitai peeked down at his cards and made the call for his tournament life.

Quan Zhou: {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Davidi Kitai: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Kitai paired his jack to cheers from his watching rail when the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to give the Belgium the double.

Salter Doubles Through Petrangelo

Nível 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Quan Zhou moved all in from the small blind and Davidi Kitai folded out of the big blind, then gave a walk in the next hand to Nick Petrangelo.

In the third hand coming back from the break, Petrangelo open-shoved out of the small blind and Jack Salter glanced at both hole cards, then called.

Jack Salter: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Nick Petrangelo: {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

On the {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, nothing much changed as Petrangelo kept the two over cards in order to dash the final blow. However, the {6-Diamonds} turn left just four sevens in the deck as outs for the American, and the {4-Diamonds} river bricked. Salter doubled for 1,105,000, taking more than half of Petrangelo's stack.

Break with Four Players Remaining

Nível 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Nothing much happened in the last few hands of the level. Nick Petrangelo checked the stacks of Jack Salter and Quan Zhou before raising it up to 180,000 first to act. It folded to Davidi Kitai and the Belgian folded out of the big blind.

Then, Kitai shoved the next two hands before the last hand of the level saw Salter limp the small blind. Zhou raised to 220,000 and that shut down all further action.

Right after, the last four players headed into the next 15-minute break.

Zuo Wang Eliminated in 5th Place (HK$ 995,000)

Nível 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Zuo Wang
Zuo Wang

Petrangelo left Wang on life support but it was Jack Salter who administered the coup de grace.

The table folded around to Zuo Wang on the button and he asked big blind Nick Petrangelo how much more he had behind – 945,000 – before moving all-in.

Petrangelo hesitated for all of 5 seconds before tossing in the call and the cards were turned over.

Nick Petrangelo: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Zuo Wang: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

It was a coin flip and Petrangelo quickly paired his jack when the flop fell {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} with the turn and river running out {2-Spades} and {9-Diamonds} respectively. That timely bink saw Petrangelo stack up to 2 million while Wang was left with a paltry 100,000 – just over a single big blind.

Wang folded the next two hands before he got the last of his chips in under-the-gun with a single big blind and blinds Jack Salter and Quan Zhou checked the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board all the way down.

Wang showed {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Salter had {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Zhou had {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} meaning Salter’s pair of threes was good enough to win the pot and send Wang to the rail in 5th place for HK$ 995,000 (~US$128,042). The last four players have at least HK$ 1,290,000 locked up, which equals approximately $166,000.

Kitai and the Power of Queen-Six

Nível 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On the button, Davidi Kitai glanced at his cards and took until five seconds were left on the shot clock to announce all in. Nick Petrangelo folded in the small blind and Jack Salter in the big blind looked at his cards. "Was this the first time you checked the cards?" Salter asked and eventually called with a few seconds left on his own clock.

Davidi Kitai: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Jack Salter: {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Kitai had staged a big comeback from just over two big blinds with exactly that queen-six, tripling up and doubling up in quick succession. However, that hand would not work against him, as the board came out {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to let the Belgian double.

Soon after, Petrangelo shoved twice and got through. In the second hand, he flashed the {J-Diamonds} and pointed to Salter with the words "just for you."

Big Double For Zhou

Nível 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

It looked like Jack Salter did not want to get bluffed again by Zhou so when the action folded around to him in the small blind this time the Brit quickly moved all-in and was called just as quickly by Zhou.

Jack Salter: {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Quan Zhou: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop came down {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts} with the {7-Spades} turn giving Salter a little hope of eliminating Zhou should he hit a five. However the river was the {8-Spades} and Zhou doubled to around 2.7 million while Salter dropped to 2.5 million.

The next hand was the last of the level and Zhou opened the action with a raise to 130,000 from the cutoff but quickly folded when Zuo Wang jammed from the button.
