Moraes Busts Zhang

Picking up the action on the flop, Rafael Moraes checked out of the big blind and Dianlei Zhang bet 1,100. Moraes check-raised to 3,500 and Zhang called with some 19,500 behind. The appeared on the turn and Moraes bet 6,000. Zhang gave it some thought and eventually moved all in, and the instant call of Moraes was a bad sign for the local player.

Aido Freerolls Haxton

We just witnessed a big hand play out between Isaac Haxton and Sergio Aido that saw the former take a big hit. We missed the pre-flop action though there obviously was some as the pot was already 14,000 with the flop spread .

Sitting in the hi-jack Haxton checked the action over to Aido, who reached for chips and led out for 5,000. Haxton ran the shot clock down to a single second before sliding out a bet, check-raising to 16,500 in total.

It was Aido’s turn to tank but not for long and he tossed out the calling chips to keep the action two-way to the turn.

Haxton took his time once more and the clock ticked down to 3-seconds before the US player moved all-in and Aido made a speedy call.

While both players held top pair, top kicker Aido was free rolling with the nut spade draw and got there when the hit the river to a sigh from Haxton, who dropped to a measly 16,000 when the dust settled while Aido rises to 80,000.

There are already more than 100 entries in the field and the tournament area in the PokerStars Live Macau poker room is buzzing with chips being raffled, raises are being called and 30 second shot clocks are running down to zero in just a few of the hands.

Among those to enter recently were Davidi Kitai, Canlin Chen and Yang Wang. Chen finished third in yesterday's HK$206,000 Single-Day High Roller and is one to watch out for at the tables.

The Lucky Charms Don't Work Yet

Sergey Sergeev, sitting next to Sergey Lebedev, has his usual lucky charms next to the chips with a Buddha and two lucky golden coins. He got into a hand with Yinfeng Jin and bet the flop for 1,200. Jin raised to 3,000 on the button and Sergeev called. The appeared on the turn and again it was Sergeev who led from early position, making it 5,000 to go.

Jin now raised to 11,000 and that eventually forced a fold from Sergeev.

Haxton and Petrangelo Chipping up, Badziakouski Wins Big From Greenwood

All the usual faces are in attendance here in the HK$103,000 Single Re-Entry Shot Clock and both Isaac Haxton and Nick Petrangelo are chugging along.

Haxton took down a small pot against Ali Reza Fatehi and Petrangelo took down another with a double barrel but one of the bigger hands we have seen so far happened between Mikita Badziakouski and Canada’s Sam Greenwood in a multi-way pot.

Pre-flop it was Greenwood who was the initial aggressor, raising to 725 from under-the-gun. Early positional bets are getting no respect at the moment and Greenwood found multiple callers with Japan’s Shinobu Tanaka, Belarus’ Mikita Badziakouski, and Anthony Diotte all making the call to take the action four-way to a flop of .

Diotte checked from the big blind, as did Greenwood and Tanaka and action came to Badziakouski in late position and the Belarusian announced a bet of 1,400.

While Diotte folded both Greenwood and Tanaka made the call taking the action three-way to the turn. Both players checked to Badziakouski once again and he loaded up the second barrel, firing for 5,300.

Greenwood called and Tanaka took the hint and folded bringing play heads-up to the river. The Canadian took 25-seconds but decided to check it over to Badziakouski for the third time and he announced a bet of 15,000.

Greenwood ran the shot clock down to 3-seconds before throwing in the call, but could only muck when Badziakouski rolled over for a flopped set.

Bullet Number Two for Chew

Stevan Chew mentioned something about losing a couple three-bet pots and then getting into a four-bet pot with pocket queens and a nine-high flop with a heart flush draw before calling a shove on a blank turn only to lose against pocket kings to sum up his first bullet. Chew was waiting for a new table to open and entered the competition, while Dong Kim, Rafael Moraes, Daniel Tang, John Juanda and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier are also in.

Adams Back on Track

Rory Young is among the select few players that already increased their stacks significantly in the first two levels of the day, and Harpreet Gill is another, though he just lost a smaller pot.

Joining the three-way action on the flop, Gill in the small blind and Timothy Adams in the big blind checked, Mikita Badziakouski checked behind. On the turn, Gill bet 1,200 and both opponents called before the came on the river.

Gill checked, Adams bet 4,200 and that forced two folds. With that hand, Adams moved back to near starting stack after a rather mediocre start into the day earlier on.
