Daniel Negreanu Eliminated

Nível 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu was down to just 74,000 and moved all in, declaring he had finally found a hand. Action folded around slowly to Mustapha Kanit in the big blind and he called.

"I have a pair of kings!" Negreanu said while showing {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

"I have a pair of aces" Kanit answered while showing {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Negreanu made his exit. "Yes!" shouted Kanit teasing Negreanu.

Negreanu was unhappy with the board and took the deck from the dealer to put another five cards on the table, but those gave Kanit an even better hand with trips. "The whole deck was against me," Negreanu laughed, stating he thought that was unfair and wanted a new hand. The floor, smiling, declined and Negreanu was heading for the rail.

Kaverman Eliminates Shak to Take the Lead

Nível 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Byron Kaverman and Dan Shak clashed in a massive pot, one that would eventually give Kaverman the lead in the tournament.

With 70,000 in the pot preflop, Kaverman bet 25,000 on a flop of {5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Clubs} , but was raised to 115,000 by Shak. Kaverman made the call and the two men saw turn of {7-Diamonds}. That was when Shak moved all-in for his remaining stack of around 140,000, and Kaverman took his time, but he made the call, turning over {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} to Shak's {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Shak needed a three-outer miracle and it didn't come, the insignificant {9-Hearts} completing the board and sending Shak out of the door.

Kaverman has a massive stack of 900,000 chips - the biggest in the tournament with just 20 players left.

Charlie Carrel Knocks Out Newey

Nível 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Charlie Carrel
Charlie Carrel

Charlie Carrel and Paul Newey got it all into the middle pre-flop, and with Newey at risk, the famously loud-shirted player, in his element right here in the Bahamas, was in dreadful shape. He held {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but Carrel, who has enjoyed a spectacularly successful last twelve months, including a runner-up in the $100,000 Super High Roller just yesterday here at the PokerStars Championships, held {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

The board of {10-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} did nothing to help Newey and he was on his feet by the turn. Carrel marches on with that busting, and he's feeling good up at 235,000.

McKeehen Doubles Tollerene

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

As we arrived, Joe McKeehen had already bet 32,000 on a flop of {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} acting out of the small blind. Ben Tollerene, sitting in the hijack, called in position.

McKeehen bet another 65,000 on the {3-Spades} turn and Tollerene called once more.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board and McKeehen shoved all in. Tollerene did one double take on his cards to make sure he had what he thought he had, and called for 146,400.

McKeehen showed {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} but that hand would end up face down in the muck soon enough as Tollerene tabled {7-Spades}{8-Spades} for the straight.

Hart Eliminated for the Second Time

Nível 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart said he'd be back after busting his first bullet, but he for sure won't be back now after just getting eliminated for the second time. This event is a single reentry, so he's all out of options now.

Hart limped in from the cutoff and small blind Sergi Reixach raised to 5,000. Big blind Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 16,500 and action was back on Hart. He pushed for about 60,000 and Reixach folded. Vogelsang called.

Christoph Vogelsang: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Kevin Hart: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out an uneventful {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Hart said his final goodbyes. There are several other (High Roller) tournaments for him to partake in this week, but he won't win the gold spade trophy in this one.

Hart Busted by Carrel

Nível 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart

Leo Cheng opened for 2,500 and Charlie Carrel made it 8,000 in the next seat, the cutoff. Kevin Hart cold-called in the big blind and Cheng came along to see {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop. Action checked to the preflop aggressor, who bet 15,000. Hart put in 75,000, most of his stack, and Cheng mucked his hand.

"All in," Carrel said, turning over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. "I assume you call."

Hart sighed and flipped over {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top two, needing help. The turn paired the board but it was a {10-Diamonds} and the river was an {8-Spades}.

"I'll be back," Hart said.

"You run pretty good, huh?" Katz said to Carrel.

"That's kind of my thing at the moment."

Who's Single-Handedly Going to Beat Everyone in the $50,000 Single-Day?

Can Steve O'Dwyer go back-to-back?
Can Steve O'Dwyer go back-to-back?

The PokerStars Championship Bahamas may be a new name for what was formerly known as the PCA, the schedule is just about the same as its predecessor. So, like last year, the festival has a $50,000 Single-Day Super High Roller. Coming from the bright mind of Bryn Kenney who suggested the format back in Prague some years ago, the tournament has been a fixture on the European Poker Tour's for some time. And why would you do away with something so successful?

While massive amounts of players partake in Day 1b of the PokerStars Championship Bahamas Main Event in one corner of the room, the High Rollers of this world sit down in another to battle each other for high stakes. Players put up $50,000 and get the guarantee they'll be a bit poorer or a whole lot richer before the Atlantis Imperial Ballroom halts all fast-paced gambling action at 4 AM.

The event debuted on the schedule last year of what was then known as the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. It was none other than Steve O'Dwyer who took down the top prize - just a buy-in short of a cool million. O'Dywer, who holds a great track record here in The Bahamas having taken down the $100,000 Super High Roller in 2015, is likely to participate again this year, as he's somewhat of a fan of the format and high rollers in genereal it appears.

Action starts at noon (in about two hours). Players start with 100,000 in chips and blinds at 500/1,000 (ante 100). Blinds will go up every half hour and the players have the option to do a single reentry if they go bust before the starts of the ninth level. PokerNews.com will be on the ground from start to finish to bring you all the updates you can ask for.
