Ziskin & Konnikova Lead Final Eight Players of $1,650 PCA National; Moorman Still In the Hunt

A total of 290 entries took to the felt in the $1,650 PCA National at the gorgeous Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas, but after two days of play, just eight remain in contention for the title and top prize of $84,600. Leading the way is Alexander Ziskin (914,000), and nipping at his heels is friend of PokerStars and acclaimed journalist Maria Konnikova (883,000). Konnikova is in search of her first live title after collecting a handful of runner-up finishes over the last year.
The top stacks are joined by the likes of accomplished Dutch chess player Loek van Wely (743,000), "Triple Crown" winner Harrison Gimbel (674,000), and online legend Chris Moorman, who is presently the short stack with 379,000.

Loek van Wely opened to 32,000 from under the gun and was called by Ryan Smith in middle position and Marcos Carneiro Antunes in the small blind. The flop came 
and the action checked around to the

Antunes checked again and van Wely took a stab at the pot with a bet of 50,000. Smith called and Antunes folded. The 
landed on the river and van Wely checked this time. Smith reached back for a bet of 110,000 and van Wely quickly folded.
On the next hand, Maria Konnikova raised to 34,000 from under the gun and van Wely defended his big blind. The flop fell 
and van Wely check-called a bet of 40,000 from Konnikova.
The turn brought the and van Wely checked again. Konnikova fired another 84,000, only to have van Wely check-raise to 200,000. Konnikova instantly called and the

With the average stack being around 45 big blinds, the action has slowed down quite a bit. Throughout the level, there have been a lot of raise and takes, with a few three-bets mixed in.
Alexander Ziskin seems to be just fine with the pace of play as he continues to remain aggressive and pick up small pots. The action folded to Ryan Smith in the hijack who opened to 32,000. Ziskin was on the button and three-bet to 91,000 and Smith called.
The flop came 
and Smith checked to Ziskin who continued for a bet of 100,000. Smith quickly sent his cards to the muck and Ziskin continued to stack chips.

Chris Moorman raised to 35,000 from early position and Harrison Gimbel three-bet to 105,000 from the big blind. Moorman four-bet shoved and Gimbel quickly called to put Moorman at risk.

Moorman found himself trailing Gimbel's aces and needed a lot of help from the deck in order to preserve his tournament life. After the board ran out
