Welcome to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK here at the home of UK Poker, Dusk till Dawn in Nottingham. The action will kick off with Day 1a of the £1,100 Open at noon local time. This will the first of five starting flights of which the last will be a turbo version on Monday, October 1, just before Day 2 starts at 3 PM.
The action-packed festival started last night with a special tournament for which players could only use PP LIVE Dollars and was won by Christos Xanthopoulos for $23,400. The Open is the second of eight events in total and PokerNews will be focusing on the Open and the Main Event. The other events include the Super High Roller, Finale, and the High Roller.
partypoker is also running a satellite for the MILLIONS World tournament which will take place at the Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) in the Bahamas. And on Sunday, October 7, at 5 PM, players can enter a CPP or WSOPE satellite. Both satellites will have a package added so this could be the perfect chance for players to win their seats for some other great tournaments!
Players will start with 1,000,000 in chips and twelve levels of 40 minutes each are scheduled for today. The registration and reentry period will close at the start of Level 7 at approximately 4:30 PM. Players are allowed one reentry per flight. A break is scheduled after every 3 levels and Day 1b should commence at 5 PM local time. As usual at the partypoker events, this tournament features a button ante.

At 3 PM on Monday, October 1, all remaining players of the five starting flights will come together for Day 2. Level duration will increase to 50 minutes each for Day 2 and Day 3. On the final day, levels will increase to an hour each and a winner will be crowned by the end of the day.

The tournament director has welcomed the players to the poker tables and instructed the dealers to shuffle up and deal.
Tom Hall has taken his seat at the tables. Hall finished in third place in the High Roller, right here in Nottingham during the 2017 edition of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK.
Also seated at the same table is Michael Howard from Sheffield. Howard has some substantial cashes too, recording almost $200,000 in live tournament cashes.

Dao Phung raised to 30,000 from the button and was called by both Trevor Reardon and Kelly Saxby in the blinds.
The flop brought them the and both Reardon and Saxby checked. Phung continued with a bet of 35,000 and only Reardon called.
The turn brought them the and now Reardon lead out for 130,000 which Phung called without hesitating.
They both checked through the on the river. Reardon tabled for two pair, jacks and sevens, with the ace-kicker. Phung had him beat though when he showed [kdc] for the higher two pair with the kings and jacks.

The board read with around 500,000 in the middle already. Mark Smith was sitting in the big blind and glanced at Raul Paez's stack in the cutoff. Smith saw Paez had 200,000 left and decided to put him all-in. Paez called.
"I missed, I have nothing." Smith said while trying to muck his hole cards. The dealer forced him to table his cards and Smith showed for the missed straight draw. Paez had for the rivered flush to double up.
While they were playing this hand, Barny Boatman joined the table sporting a pair of crutches and his starting stack.
